    Okay, it's only three weeks away, but I honestly need an idea or two as far as a food theme for this one. What is FLA and the jagsonville area known for food-wise? And no, my grill is too small to be cooking up a gator... Any other ideas? Let's hear it. Also, if you are planning to attend, let us know how many of you are going to be joining us at our tailgate spot. I have already received a communication from a group of Canadians that are planning to be drinking and eating at our shindig! How about hearing from some of our regulars too? Let's make this a memorable home opener as we always do! GO BOLTS!!!

    Thank you,

    Pointy :cool:

    So looks like jags fare is a selection of normal tailgate foods from what I can figure out
    Wings , brisket , Mac and cheese ect , but as with most of Florida fish shrimp and slaw dogs seem to come up
    A lot . I think we could do smoked sausage on buns or steak peppers and cheese po boys seasoned up accordingly
    Just a suggestion

    Welcome to the think tank, Mr. Hogg! All ideas are appreciated. How many others will be arriving with your group when you come to the Q on the 18th? One of our more esteemed members came up with a suggestion as well to create or provide a burger made some jalapenos mixed in, call it a spicy jag burger. Another idea is to possibly do a lowland boil, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn cobettes, old bay seasoning, something like that. Then again, we could always do a San Diego / Tijuana-style street taco fest with beef and chicken tacos. I even know some folks that would be to cook it up for us, it's a numbers game, depends on how close to feeding 50 people we can get to commit to. I even like the idea that you proposed, some exotic meats from the north country. Let's see what some of the others think as well.

    Good news of sorts. I was able to contact a buddy of mine, and I can borrow his flat top grill to cook up some serious grub on Game Day. Pointy's taco cart is opening for business. Maybe I will call it "Tacos El Pointy."

    If you are coming in from elsewhere, just show up at the tailgate. Recommend that you BYOB, cans only, no bottles. For the food, we will provide wristbands for those that make a small cash donation. If you like, I can fill you in on the details.

    ^^^ That is awesome, thanks for being able to bring in those items! I will be contacting you in the next few days, with a few more details.

    The tailgate is located in parking lot L-2, just east of the trolley station about 150 yards away and under the bridge.

    Were are up to at least 22 persons that will be in attendance. Please advise if you will be showing up at the tailgate and if you are bringing any friends or guests, it helps us with our food planning.

    Luis;

    If you could make that dessert a large flan or pan dulce that would be awesome!
    As far as parking in that area you are talking about, the PoPo has it blocked and you need a pass just to get by them, parking damn near impossible unless you can find parking on Rancho Mission Road. An alternative plan might be that I pick up some of the food items from you on Saturday, and I can drive them in on Sunday. If you get about 2 doz limes and a doz lemons we should be okay. I will have a cutting board and a knife to make lime wedges.
