thanks yall...good finds. I found this:
In 1997 a major expansion costing $78 million was undertaken with the following taking place: 10,500 seats were added bringing the total seating capacity to 71,500

i'm really surprised. it looks MUCH larger.

Carter Finley Stadium (NC State) now holds a 60,000 seating capacity.

Florida State's stadium seats approx. 82,000.

Both of those are in the ACC.

Here in my beloved SEC divison of college football Bryant Denny Stadium (at THE :icon_mrgreen: University of Alabama) has a seating capactiy of over 92,000.

Jordan Hare Stadium  (at that OTHER Alabama university called Auburn) the capacity is nearly 86,000.

While doing a search I found that Ohio State (101,500),
Michigan (107,500), Penn State (107,000) and ughhhhh the Tennessee Volunteers (104,000) all have stadiums with seating capacities of over 100,000.

Wild to me that some college stadiums have more seats than some NFL stadiums. Really have never given it much thought till now.

Where do the Chargers rank as far as seating capacity with other NFL stadiums?

    Thanks again yall!

the fact that college stadiums have bigger capacity than the NFL stadiums migh be misleading since I would think more fans fit in a bench than in individual seats, also club seat might be larger, they have suites, bigger press areas (maybe), et.

In addition, you see both colleges' entire marching bands in marked off sections in the seats during the game. That's about 2000 or 3000 right there in some places.

    Speaking of stadium -

The Chargers/Steelers game tickets on Stubhub (ad linky on right) is going through the roof on price.

My seats are going for around $325.00 per ticket (View 37) Row 11.

Club 37 is around $800.00 per ticket.

Plaza 37 is around $600.00 per ticket.

    These prices will go up.

If NFL games cost around $30 per ticket, you'd probably be able to sell 100,000 seats. Most colleges give students a hefty discount. Pretty much anyone who wants to see a college game and has a few bucks in their wallet can make it happen.

But when you start adding parking, concessions, and everything else to the ledger, an NFL game is a significant expense.
