I was hoping to see if Eric Parker could still play. Sadly he's still worthless to 32 NFL teams.

Opinion? Try fact....Cason sealed the deal; he is our nickel corner without a doubt. Still will Oliver start at safety? I could see Gordon playing in that spot. Wait..take that back - I need to see him get a little more physical.

    Cason is our nickel.

Gordon or Oliver is likely our dime back.

Oliver is also being considered as backup safety. No he won't start this year, unless Hart or Weddle get injured.

Yeah, Clinton Hart is a good safety and Oliver just isn't ready, Gordon at dime back seems pretty good, unless he has to go up against Stokely, Welker, and any other sneaky fourth and third recievers.

Bingo, I think Cason won the job too. That dude is gonna be a playa for us. Cro, Jammer, Cason. Best corners in the NFL. Nobody will throw on us! Maybe run on us though.....:icon_eek:

    Yep. Manning-six interceptions, Brady-five, Cutler-ten, Ryan-twelve...
As for Run D...We need the Wall and some tackling from the ILBs!

Same here! But I don't think he's better than Davis, Chambers, or Jackson.

Neither Jammer, Cro, Weddle, Hart or Cason seem to shy away from contact. Wilhelm does need to get more aggressive. Waters, Siler and Tucker, who appear to be able to play inside or outside can step in if he doesn't.

Isn't Giles Tucker an OLB? And isn't Derrick Smith already noted as the starter? Plus Willhelm might not be ready to tackle. He's saving himself, trying not to get injured. He's the guy with the green sticker on his helmet, a chosen leader on the defense that is set to play all four downs. He's going to start and play and hopefully make tackles. Oliver's a backup safety at most.

I think you are right on Wilhelm, he was nagged hard by injuries in the first half of last season. He does seem to be playing not to get hurt.

Yes opinion, you see I dont state facts unless they are. And I work 2nd shift and live on the east coast so I havent seen a game this preseason yet so I just get to read the box score. Therefore I am not 100% sure that he had it or not, and if it hasnt come out that he is I wouldnt say it either.

Based on playing time and performance, Cason is the logical choice. Oliver is talented and provides crucial depth, but Cason is already playing at a higher level than Oliver despite being a rookie. He has the instincts you can't teach and more playing time will only make him better.

Cason won multiple awards as a defensive back his years in college. He was projected as a first rounder to be drafted right about where we drafted him.

Oliver's main claim to fame as a CB was that he severely limited Calvin Johnson's production when he faced him in college. THat's nice, but not very useful at the pro level unless we play Detroit way more than once every four years.

Nevertheless, Oliver is still a good backup option at safety where he's being moved. After all, he cost just a 4th round pick. Not bad. A 4th rounder for a decent backup safety.

As I knew he would I have been touting him since we drafted him. However like I said I have just read the box scores and havent seen him play so wasnt going to say he was the guaranteed starter unless I was 100% sure.
