this is just one example i will quote, but ive heard ESPN 800 am radio say this morning LT had 18 TD's for the season. Then on NFL Primetime, they said 17 TD's...and in TrumpetMans article that he posted off of mercurynews or whatever, they say 18...WTF...its 19 TD's media people..everyone get it right...16 rushing, 2 recieving, and 1 passing.!!!! To me, that equals 19. oh by the way, the record that is 28 touchdowns is a rushing record, not total TD's. so LT is on track of breaking the rushing TDs record as well as total TD record. I seriously need a sportscasting job...:icon_shrug: :icon_tease:

at least this article got all his rushing and receiving TD's, they just forgot about the one he threw.

I think they are counting only the ones he took into the endzone himself. So that's rushing + receiving.

Yep, or else LT would have to compete with QBs for any records.

It's just like most people don't count his passing yards when they talk about his total yards.

Yes, and he's leading the team in getting run over and holding on for dear life until the player falls to the ground, usually 3-4 yards after Donnie's initial contact.

If you're going to complay about the media not getting LT's TD total right, perhaps you should get it right. A TD pass does not count as a TD scored. LT has 16 rushing TDs and 2 receiving TDs. That's 18. I think some reporters only look at his rushing TDs.

it counts as a TD scored for a quarterback, so when LT is throwing, it counts as a TD scored. If hes involved with the TD, its a TD scored (period)

No it does not count as a scored TD for a QB. Here are the official NFL stats for points scored: http://www.nfl.com/stats/leaders/NFL/TPTS/2006/regular

You'll notice that not a single QB is in the top 30. Why? Because their TD passes do not count as TDs scored. The person who gets credit for scoring is the one who carries the ball into the end zone, not the guy who gets it to that player.

On a side note, it's amazing that after nine games, LT leads the league in scoring. He has scored more points than every kicker in the league.

can you imagine if they let LT come out and kick a field goal...just for the fun of it...say its a 30 yrd field goal..and they know he can hit it...how crazy would that be...???

If he continues at his current pace, he'll break the all-time record for points in a season (176) held by Paul Hornung of the 1960 Packers. And Hornung scored 86 of his points off field goals and extra points. LT will need 30 TD's to do it which, of course, would also break the all-time TD record.

It's getting so that every year now LT is tucking a couple more records under his belt. Give him another 4 or 5 healthy years and he'll be widely regarded as the best player of the modern era.
