Really, this guy is out of control and in all essence is slowly but surely destroying what used to be a true contender every season. He sent Drew Brees packing, ran Ladainian Tomlinson (granted he's old) out of town, and now he's having some stupid ego-drive standoff with pro bowl receiver Vincent Jackson (did I mention he's their best?), and pro bowl left tackle Marcus McNeil (that guy who blocks Rivers' blindside). Smith is nothing more than a crusty old man who has an ego the size of Texas and would rather see his team finish 2-14, than sit down and work out contracts with 2 very important pieces to the puzzle of last years 13-3 AFC West champions. Philip Rivers is a great quarterback and I love having him (sorry Drew), but this is just a glimpse of why Archie Manning was so adamant about getting Eli out of San Diego. A.J. Smith grants Vincent Jackson permission to seek a trade with another team, then when ever a team contacts him about V-Jack he makes ludicrous requests that he knows they will not agree to... pretty much screwing Jackson. I'm honestly glad Jackson didn't get traded, but my only question is this... if he is worth so much to you, then why don't you just iron out a deal that will keep him here for the remainder of his career? You'll keep a washed up post-steroids bum like Shawne Merriman, but you wont ink a deal with your star receiver... really? I know my boy Philip Rivers wants him there, and I can only imagine how many times he has had to fight back the urge to walk into the Sith Lord's office and demand order to be restored on his starting roster. Oh well... just like every year, all I can do is sit back and say f*ck you A.J. Smith, and thanks for crushing our dreams of a super bowl again.

AJ is the Ladainian Tomlinson equivalent of general managers. Yes he had many good years but now he is past his prime and time for him to move on.

I don't AJ missed a tackle or dropped a pass today... seems to me we should be looking at who is motivating (or not) this team. I just hate it when they come out looking like they just rolled out of bed after a night of heavy partying. Seems like you would be prepared to play on Sunday if you're a professional football player. And don't even get me started on the very delicate flower named Shawn Merriman.

Although I do not like A.J. and have numerous reasons why....the one thing that stands out like a huge sore thumb in the two loses so far is the loss of Kassim Osgood on special teams and with A.J. standing his egotistical ground on not bargaining with players, Osgood would already have had a huge impact at just special teams and returns. not to mention not having to look for another receiver.

Yes a couple of losses brings up the bolttalk registration. The idiots come out just to say how much they hate AJ when they really have no idea.

Actually, the reason these threads get started is a conspiracy by the Bolttalk ownership to drive up hits on their web site.

This guy made a username specifically addressed to this agenda and only has one post.

I don't think trolling has ever been so obvious.

    It’s a reach…………..

BUT, bases loaded and nobody out.

Batter hits an infield fly – one out

Said fly ball hits the runner who is at second base – one out

The runner who was one first base takes off at the crack of the bat and passes the runner who was at second base – one out

And by the way a batted ball, that hits a runner while he is standing on the base is out. Being on the base only comes into play when a play is being made on that runner, otherwise any batted ball that hits any runner no matter where they are, is an out.
