House money is the term of the season, everyone is using it. I think we should do a shot every time someone says it on TV...

We've never had it before, so I'm overusing it. And drinking lots of shots.

San Diego is this week's story, so they're drawing all the flies of the media. I hope the Bolts kick Denver's asses, but if not, I just hope they show up, and kick Peyton's butt around a few times.

I'm always happier when the knuckleheads at ESPN and MMQB are NOT talking/writing about the Bolts.

Don't worry. If it make you feel any better, Peter King ranked us below three teams that lost last weekend.

If the Bolts Cinderella Defense hasn't turned back into a pumpkin by kickoff Sunday we should all be happy no matter what any of the talking horseasses have to say. The Bengal game had a throwback feel as if it were played in a different time to me. The O pounded out yards on the ground and only went airborne enough to keep the Bengals honest. The D shut their running game down and forced Dalton to throw and they reaped the rewards for playing a damn good game. Almost like back in the 70's but I sure as hell enjoyed it.

and we know that kind of defense does not work against Peyton. I expect a lot of different blitz schemes on Sunday as we have to keep the pressure on him while keeping him and his receivers out of their timing.

If this defense is the real deal and what they did last week wasn't a fluke, I like their chances, guarded but there is hope. These guys have seemed to have found some speed along with physical toughness from out of nowhere and hence my apprehension going in. Most of us here have been down this road before with this club and have hard our hearts torn out. So I will be cautiously optimistic going in and hoping for the best with the thought of knowing what can happen.

Pagano was very creative against Cincy. The Chargers played with only two down linemen on defense for several plays, even on early downs. That was not a formation I'd really seen too much prior to that game.

There are many reasons for the defensive resurgence, but I think it's legit. Butler is finally back to playing like Butler. It seems whatever injury was nagging him most of the year is gone. Te'o doesn't look lost anymore. Ingram is back and wreaking havoc. Johnson is healthy and bringing his physical toughness to the front. As soon as we replaced Cox with Marshall, it solidified our secondary. Weddle is now able to freelance more. Wright and Addae are playing much better the 2nd half of the year.

The fact that our LBs are now healthy also enables us to rotate our pass rushers and keep them fresh.

This was the formula the Jets used to reach two straight AFC Championships a few years ago. I'm not saying our defense is as good as their D was, but we do have Rivers at QB instead of Sanchez, so...

Since the halfway point the Bolt D has grown or so it seems. I can't rightly say Pags has stolen anything from anyone as far as beating the Donks because the sample size is so small. I prefer to find that these boys have picked it up and kicked it up with experience and some timely and amazing recoveries in the injury department. If this D can continue to play at the same level they've been for the last four weeks, (PFM) Pizza Face Manning, will be well done come Sunday Eve.

I think there are lots of reasons for the improved play--the health of Ingram, Butler and Johnson, the improved play of Addae, Wright and Gilchrist, and the benching of Derek Cox.
