Interesting, he was banned for the first 4 games of the 2010 season for a non-steroid banned substance and you're bringing that up for content from the 2011 season?

He used something that MASKS steroid use. That still makes him a cheater.

And he had his BEST year prior to the 2010 season. You know, the season he cheated. He wasn't as impressive since then.

Why not, people still blame roids for Merrimans success, when his best 2 years were the 2 after he popped on a test 6 months before the season started

Because they're two young impact players who the Texans have acquired in recent years, who are exactly the kind of players the Chargers don't have on defense and so desperately need.

One of which was/is a cheater. So our team needs more players like that?

If he was a cheater, and is no longer a cheater, then absolutely yes. We need motivated, hard working, explosive playmakers on this defense. I could give a rats *** what a player did 3 years ago if he's playing clean today. This isn't a hall of fame discussion, this is about his ability to have an impact on this team going forward.

If he was and no longer is. Is this a concept that you're having difficulty with? It's a complicated "if" clause in an if-then statement. Surely this isn't the first time you've encountered one.

Cheater or no cheater, bottom line is he is better than any of our linebackers and Watt is way better than anyone on our D-line, good drafting by Houston.

In the same draft that they took Cushing, we could've took Clay Matthews but instead went with Larry English.

And you can't answer the "if" question either way. What is known is that he got busted for cheating. You seem to have lost your grasp on that concept.

Now, Watt is a beast. And he didn't cheat either. ;)

I don't have to be able to answer it. You asked me:

and so I simply responded that if he was a cheater and no longer is, then I would absolutely want him on our team.

Absolutely no reading comprehension failures going on behind this keyboard.

I may be missing the point of this thread.

Are we to just post videos of others teams' guys, if that team
is currently stronger at a given position than the Chargers are?

That's going to be a LOT of posts (though I still won't know WHY)

But you keep saying "if". There is NO IF. He got busted for cheating.

IF Cushing had gone to USC, you might have a point.
(unfortunately, these sorts of things are just, evidently, inherently unknowable) ;)

I see that the complex if clause is blowing your mind.

If he is not on steroids now, although he used them in the past, I would want him on our team.

    Really?
Read what you wrote. Your "if", as shown above, questions whether he cheated or not in the first place. There is NO IF. Cushing cheated. You're welcome.

False, it simply creates a single, complex condition.

If I wanted to call into question whether or not Cushing had cheated, I would have written it as such.

If Cushing were to have been a cheater, and were no longer a cheater, I would want him on our team.
