I thought I was, but I am here to tell everyone,

    I bailed on our Bolts.

I feel as ashamed as a man (no, A WUSS!!) can feel.

I am here to ask my fellow Boltheads if you all see it in your heart

    to please forgive me.

I have learned from this and will from this day forward

    NEVER GIVE UP!!!!

I was at my friend's watching the game...and when we went into the half down 28-7, I bid him adieu and told myself I had better things to do with my time than watch this embarrassment.

So I got into my car and drove home, anticipating another arduous day with my nose in the books, preparing for the bevy of exams my oh-so compassionate professors had lined up for me.

I parked my car, stepped on to the street, and with my head hung low, walked to my front porch.

I opened the door and, to my surprise, saw my dad, a 54 year old Lebanese man who hardly even knows the game, sitting by himself watching the halftime show.

Now, my dad never used to watch football. In fact, you can even say I introduced him to the sport. But there he was, without anyone to keep him company, watching the San Diego Chargers get handled.

    "Dad, what are you doing?"

He looked at me and smiled, and said, "I'm watching my team win."

And then it hit me, my dad had the right idea. He was going to see this thing through. And by God, if he was going to put himself through this misery, I wasn't going to leave him alone to do it.

So I went to the fridge, grabbed a couple beers, cracked them open and plopped down on the couch next to my old man...only to see the greatest comeback in San Diego history.

Great story. And remember old people see things we younger ones can't see. I too didn't give up. But I must say. THis chargers team proved to me they are on a mission this year. We just need a better pass defense and it will be undefeatable.

I never stopped watching the game, but man I'd be lying if I said I wasn't pulling my hair out by half-time. I told my brother if we were going to have a realistic shot at winning we would need to stop Cincy on their first drive of the second half and score a TD on our first drive. At that time it seemed almost like a pipe dream because our defense hadn't stopped them at ALL and our offense wasn't exactly ripping it up. But hey, they did it, they won, I don't care how they won, and I can honestly say I never gave up hope. But if we had gone down 35-7 in the third quarter I would probably would have gone home for the day and listened to it on the radio.

I broke things. My buddy (not the the psycho) left at halftime. I broke a few more things.

    Our secondary Coach sucks.

    Who Dey?

We won. Philip is the **** and I honestly believe that we haven't even seen that guy come close to hitting his ceiling. This was nothing for him.

    We won.

Broncos suck the *** pimples of John Elway's ballsack.

We will win in Denver. :bolt:

Am I on the UT Board? Sure seems like it.

:icon_eek: That is exactly what I was thinking Thunderstruck. It was so painful watching the 1st half. Especially after they scored that last TD. But I knew that if we could score 1st in the 2nd half, we had a chance being down by only 14.

Guys, don't call folks out about giving up today. It's all part of getting used to winning. I doubted these guys in the 1st half because they simply stunk it up. But I wasn't about to give up on them completely, because I have been following and supporting them for so fricken long. This is OUR team, win or lose. Were 7-2, so let's move on and keep the bandwagon rolling into Denver.

sorry but giving up on a team that you so called support, is unforgivable. dont pretend we are the same when you give up. you think the fuqin wins are hard to support? try our 1-15 season. i know they sucked and it sucked watching them week in week out being tormented by many who know far less about the sport than me but simply see the score and record to stratagize thier attack on me. forgiveness you can ask for personally i dont put you on the same boat as me. its very hard to be a true fan and anyone who disowns his team even for a short bit obviously doesnt understand what it means to be a fan.

Thanks guys. I didn't expect my little nugget of Charger fandom to resonate so much with everyone.

You think it was an awesome story, try living it. I'm so glad I put aside the books and watched the rest of the game with my dad. He and I were going ape **** by the end of the third quarter, and we literally just passed out after the Bolts finally put the thing away.

I don't get to see my old man much, we're always working our tails off (while the rest of the family lives in luxury...don't tell my mom I said that). But today it was just me and him. I don't think we've had that much fun together in a long time.

    Remember, anything is possible...

You didn't bail on the Bolts, you just had momentary doubts...you're a good fan :icon_wink: ....but it really is never over til it's over... when they were down I just thought they had the whole half to catch back up...

I still remember the Dodgers hitting those four home runs in a row to come back from behind...in sports, as in life, anything can happen! And it did today.

Hey I was on some asses in the Gameday thread (Rivers will fuc em up) (Balless wonders) etc etc etc because I had a feeling this was going to be the day we saw another step in Rivers coronation.

Brother Jim who does not post here but is a tailgater called me up at halftime to say we are going to see the greatest comeback in Chargers history.

Ms. Trumpy got up and said I can not watch this play and I told her to sit her fuggin asss down and that Rivers was going to open some goddamn EYES and I put my hands to both my eyes and stretched them as wide as they would go.

I told her the forum needed to do the same damn thing because posters were dropping like flies.

Hey not once did I give up and I knew the kid had that IT **** going on !!!

Just for have these kind of treacherous and scandalous thoughts about our Chargers, each one of you disbelieving heathens must abstain from any CARNAL acts until the Denver game is over. This includes porn. :icon_eek:
