He gets tagged and traded for a Kings Ransom. It will make the loss easier to stomach.

I don't want to lose him either.

If we truly thought rivers was our man, we should've traded Brees the season before he left. He was hot, we wanted rivers, and we didn't even make the playoffs that year. But maybe it's hindsight...

    I don't.

All the stars aligned for them last year. They lack talent. They'll get better, just not this year.

We were eliminated from the playoffs in weeek 16, AJ told Marty it was best for the Chargers to start Rivers the last game for evaluation. Marty being the dick that he was/is put in Brees anyway and Brees got hurt thereby eliminatating Brees' off-season value. And that is what pissed off AJ. Nitwits blame AJ for the disfuction but, it was Marty that was not a team player. Marty cost us high round pick.

ok.... but I still believe that AJ and Co saw Rivers as the longtime solution, if so, I am saying they should've traded brees the season before. Give Rivers an extra year to learn and grow.

But to be honest, I think this is easier said now, then two years ago, and probably would've been crazy seeing he just had his break out season.

Invalid comparison. Brees was damaged goods at that point, tagging him would have been a huge risk. Nobody knew how he was going to come back from the injury and surgery.

    Don't knock the Breeser man!

He is doing well enough on that account by himself this season.

so what does it take to keep him and keep him happy? Considering our situation, he's a great compliment to LT. Anyway of using him and LT like Duece & Bush?

/don't pretend to know as much about this stuff as some of yeah.

    find a good replacement.

He wants to be a starter, and he wants Starter pay. How long can you hold someone back who wants that?

I think the only reason he stuck around this year, he felt this was the best team to get him a ring with the Lombardi.

Michael Turner is the greatest insurance policy in the league. When you have an expensive car, don't you have to pay more to insure it?

Please AJ, if it's at all possible, give MT some serious money to keep him around. He is the best closer in pro football.

I want MT to stay. But if we don't have a backup for LT for next season, I think AJ will find a way to make it happen to keep MT.

Turner is sooooo overqualified for his role he will never willfully stay in San Diego.

So what we need to do is franchise him and trade him to the highest bidder.

He wants to start. That is something AJ cannot give him.
    IMO....

He is here this season only to get a ring. next season he is gone.

You can tag him all you want, but if he wont accept it.

    Can you say holdout.

2 we can be sure of. And we know he was offered a 1st rounder.
After this year when Turner lifts his ypc over 8, hahahaha, it'll be that much easier.

You know AJ wont stand pat by just releasing an uninjured player tha could start for 90% of the teams in this league. We need to get at least a 1st rounder for MT.

He's under contract so he was going to be hear regardless, unless some other GM was going to let AJ rob the bank. If we franchise him for a year it will be his first time and if Norval finally gets it through his head to use him and LT in the same backfield routinely, then he wouldn't be too unhappy, I suspect. We need to franchise him in any event, because the demand for him will be high and whoever winds up with him will have to sign him to a lucrative deal or lose him the following season. Turner is in a win/win situation right now.
