Coming to Chicago in the trade was Jay Cutler, who had famously (or infamously) engineered his departure out of Denver. In the early going, the Vikings dipped their toes in the Cutler trade speculation, but got cold feet (or perhaps wind of a bigger fish swimming by). Cutler went to Chicago for Orton and several high draft choices and had preseason prognosticators claiming he would be the catalyst to send the Bears back to the Super Bowl.

So far, in 10 games for the Bears, it doesn't appear to have worked out that way.

Cutler currently leads the league in interceptions with 18 (compared to 15 TD passes) and has throw some at the most inopportune times--such as on the final drive in the Bears' loss last week against Philadelphia. While not every interception can be attributed to a quarterback (poorly run routes, miscommunication with receivers, bad catches, tipped balls and great plays by the defense all can result in picks), Cutler has made some bad decisions and some bad throws. His play (which include a 4- and 5-interception game this season) has been inconsistent and certainly less than expected.

Jay Cutler Is A Weird Bro

by Eamonn Brennan • Nov 30, 2009 9:02 PM EST

Ryan at MPS can't figure this video out, and neither can I. Watch for the microphone push right at the beginning:

Um, what? At first I thought maybe the microphone hit Cutler in the head, and he was overreacting to being brushed in the eyebrow by a wayward mic. But that doesn't happen. Cutler just sort of weirdly rubs his head and then pushes the microphone away, and then rubs his head again, scowling the whole time. Weird, weird, weird.

The most probable conclusion? Cutler was trying to seem angry to placate a Chicago media corp that hangs on his every gesture. Either way: fail.

I watched a couple of times and my guess is that he didn't notice the fixed NFL microphone before wiping his face and was upset that a reporter had the mic so close so he pushed back (against the only fixed mic). It also fits his personality.

The first question should have been, WTF is wrong with you?

I was thinking the same thing... I would hardly call that flipping out.
Though none of this should come as a surprise. What did he accomplish before going to the Bears? Sure he put up nice fantasy stats but what else?

I usually do not root against somebody: it's bad sports and bad for my liver.

However there are two exceptions: Eli Manning and Jay Cutler.

The reason? They both disrespected the game and while doing so Eli disrespected the Chargers and Jay did the same knowingly to Philip Rivers.

The famous interview of Jay Cutler - in which he re-elaborated the happenings of the famous Christmas game of 2007 in a way to make look Philip Rivers like the culprit and the istigator - still makes my blood boil.

So I wish him a lot of seasons like this one.

I do not want him to fail completely, because then a team would just cut him. So I prefer that he has SOME success, so that the hope for the current team (now the Bears) still lingers: and the sum of his failure still adds up continuously.

Welcome to the world of sweet revenge: Jay Cutler.

How many of those INTs were into triple coverage? Almost all? That was pathetic.

    This was on August 18th-

Jay Cutler, the Chicago Bears’ new quarterback Jersey ranks No. 1 in the NFL in sales, according to Street & Smith’s SportsBusiness Daily. All over Chicago, there are fans sporting his No. 6 with the name Cutler across their shoulders. Cutler wasn’t nearly as popular in Denver. His Broncos jersey ranked No. 17 at the end of the season.

Street & Smith’s complete list is below:

    1. Jay Cutler, Bears
    2. Troy Polamalu, Pittsburgh
    3. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh
    4. Tony Romo, Dallas
    5. Mark Sanchez, New York Jets
    6. Tom Brady, New England
    7. Terrell Owens, Buffalo
    8. Michael Crabtree, San Francisco
    9. Eli Manning, New York Giants
    10. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota
    11. Hines Ward, Pittsburgh
    12. Peyton Manning, Indianapolis
    13. LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego
    14. Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona
    15. Jason Witten, Dallas
    16. Matt Ryan, Atlanta
    17. Joe Flacco, Baltimore
    18. Marion Barber, Dallas
    19. Brian Urlacher, Bears
    20. Devin Hester, Bears

    This was on November 30th-

Salvation Army shirts that even the Chicago homeless won't wear to stay warm:

    1. Jay Cutler, Bears
    2. "Chicago Bears Super Bowl XLI Champions!"

I don't really understand why some of those are so popular(especially rookies), like why would you buy a Devin Hester jersey when he hasn't done anything since he became a starting WR and stopped returning kicks. Why would you get a Mark Sanchez or Matt Stafford(I know he's not on the list) or Michael Crabtree jersey, when they haven't done anything and if you bought them before they even played? I think that's just a waste of money

EDIT: The gf's mom is buying me an LT jersey for Christmas :D

    From the bears Forum.

    ------------------ " Bear_Up:

Is it just me, or does it seem like Cutler's helmet is too big for his head? It seems like the shell lies too low above his eyes?

Im not saying this is being obstructive or anything like that, I'm just wondering if anyone else has noticed Cutler's helmet sits very low right over his eyes??

or am i completey crazy (dont answer that)."

Not only does it seems like his signature style but think about it. When your on defense and your trying to look at his eyes to see where he's looking at, you wont be able to because it sits so low and the helmet would also cast a shadow. Look at the other QBs, you can see thier whole face and see exactly where they are looking at. With Cutler he takes away that advantage for the defense. Thats my opinion.-----------------------

LOL! 20 picks, I wonder how many he would have if wore his helmet normal
