    Dear Fans of San Diego,

Today was a great historic day in San Diego as our Bolts swept the Broncos for the first time since 1982 and this year's future NFL MVP LT set the all-time single season TD record.

And by the way, today our Bolts won the AFC West Division Title, clinched a play-off berth, and are now the AFC #1 seed in position to have home field advantage throughout the play-offs. But it gets better.

Of greater importance is the season building impending explosion in the strong sense of community and great pride that has, is and will be shared by all local residents throughout the San Diego region whether a Chargers fan or not because we are all fans of San Diego!

In the end, it is the joy and excitement we all share rooting for our home team, and especially when it is winning, that is priceless.

And of course, where our Bolts are concerned this season.....

    Greater Days Are Coming

    I Smell Superbowl! Do You?

Well the first game I saw was in 1965 and 41 years later I have to say this is the best team assembled or at least comparable to (Hadl, Rote, Lowe, Lincoln, Alworth, Faison, Ladd, Duncan).

We do not have the fire power of Air Coryell.

When I have been asked, given our high powered offense of today, how we stack up against Air Coryell, I tell the new fan to think of today's team with THREE 1,000 yard receivers and a running back who gets 1,000 yards. Now you have Air Coryell.

Do I smell Super Bowl ?

    You bet.

CSFOSTER, you didnt have to make a duplicate thread again. I said I would open it back up once the chargers clinched the title. To answer your question, I dont smell a super bowl. I smell and taste the division title. Then I will smell and taste the AFC Championship, then the Super Bowl. Lets not jump the gun to fast now. We still have 3 games left.

    Super Bowl Equals Scandal
    By Fred Williams, San Diego

Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006 | Re: Caryl S. Foster, "I Smell Super Bowl"

When you smell Super Bowl, the scent of scandal isn't far behind. Let's remember the last two times our local sports heroes went to the top.
When the Chargers went to their last Super Bowl, we got saddled with the seat guarantee, the worst deal in the NFL, and a remodeled stadium no longer suitable for baseball. Golding got her fat Spanos Clan campaign contribution promises, and we got the shaft.

When the Padres went to the World Series, just days before the vote on their downtown sports palace, it got everyone emotional. The result is that the city now pays John Moores over $25 million a year, and he owns ten percent of our downtown. Guess who put both deals together? City Manager Jack McGrory, unindicted mastermind of the pension scandal, and employee of the Padres.

Too bad sports fanatics cannot remember this. When a bunch of over-paid semi-criminals are brought in from elsewhere to entertain us, it doesn't actually make San Diego a better place, folks. In fact, it's the root cause of our current bankruptcy.

Funny how the San Diego teams only win when they're trying to convince a gullible public to give them more taxpayer money. Too bad Caryl Foster can't see through this scam, and is actually applauding these crooks as they try, yet again, to take our money.

Hi all your Superbowl smelling folks. I just looked to the Fact Book
and asked which seed wins SBs ?
Starting ten year columns with the 70ties its:
    1st seed 2nd seed 3rd seed 4th to 6th seed 1st:eek:thers
    7 2 1 (Pit74) 7-3
    7 1 1 (Wash 87) 1 (Oak 80) 7-3
    7 2 1 (Den 97) 7-3
    1 3 2 (Bal 00,Pit06) 1-5

First seed isn't a must anymore.
in the new century simply the best team wins.:bolt2: go chargers:bolt2:

The first seed isn't a safe place to a Superbowl win anymore:

    in the 70ies the first seed got 7 SB 2nd 2 and 3rd 1 = 7-3
    in the 80ies the first seed got 7 SB 2nd 1 ,3rd+WC 2 = 7-3
    in the 90ies the first seed got 7 SB 2nd 2 and WC 1 = 7-3
    but
in the 2000+ the first seed got 1 SB 2nd 3 and Balt00 + PittWC
    = 1-5 !
    SDC will make it 2-5
