Sign him to the practice squad and let him compete for the # 3 or 4 RB spot during preseason.

Ok, maybe not the PS. But at least let him compete for the #3,#4,#5,#6 RB slot. He can even play some special teams if he likes.

Doubt L.T would do that. Besides AJ has made it known that L.T's time here is over no refunds.

honestly, if LT would do it I wouldn't mind and would love it if he's willing to play 2nd fiddle/mentor to Mathews.

I dont see that happening, though.

Thankfully the $1,000,000 the Chargers paid him this season is coming off the books.

He hates Norv. Rivers and Gates both kinda dissed him. He dissed us multiple times. **** that guy.....until he retires a Charger.

Of course. But if he agrees to come back and wash the uniforms for minimum wage, we'll all celebrate none the less.

Gates and Jammer are the only Chargers that still talk to him. Not sure where anyone 'dissed him', other than AJ and Norv

Tomlinson might be done in the NFL and it's sad he had to end it in Dago the way he did. I don't dislike the man just his actions, not cool or "classy" he acted the fool and received what he asked for.

i'm not. He's still a Chargers legend and a San Diego sports icon despite all the crap that was said last offseason. I'd embrace the notion of bringing him back, so long as he doesn't expect to be the feature back.

If the Jets release him, you have him sign a one day $500 contract and retire as a Charger.

I think people would be more inclined to cut him a break if he didn't throw the organization under the bus the way he did. The Chargers kept him two years longer than they should have out of loyalty and he repays them by being a prick.

He's not getting much love from the org or the fans 'till he retires probably.

You mean the same way AJ and co. threw him under the bus? Guess we see what we want to see. Double standard is bioctch.

Dont ask logical questions. Some folks feel that AJ is an evil entity sent to destroy the Chargers (in general the new folk who were not around for the pre-Butler/Smith days) and no matter what, he (AJ) the owners, the FO, and the Coach are really out to tar down the franchise.

Infact, I am sure that there is a memoir somewhere called the "AJ Code" that talks about the 'lightningarti' who secretly work to keep the truth hidden and ensure the failure of the Chargers as an Organization. Its true, its not just some hollywood movie...

Hey don't lump me in that group! I've only been a fan since around 2003/04 (whichever season Gates went nuts in with like 13 TDs). To be fair though I'm Canadian and always was basically told CFL is better (even though it isn't) and got bored with it so came to the NFL because I bought Madden 2002 because I wanted to play a football videogame  Also I think AJ is a great GM. The drafts (the ones you can evaluate) may be shaky but look at all the UDFA's and just talent out of NOWHERE (Garay for instance). That is a damn good GM that can bring in nonames who turn out to be probowlers

Tomlinson built and rode his own train out of town, he could have stayed but said no more renegotiation with the Bolt's, kind of sums it up if you ask me.

How did they throw him under the bus? Do you consider releasing him, throwing him under the bus? I believe they wanted him to renegotiate for less cash since his production was waaaaaay down and he was always hurt. I think that's fair especially since they had already extended him twice. There was no reason to believe LT would make it another season injury free after two injury filled seasons. There was no double standard there.

LT suffered from the same thing Emmit Smith did at the end of his career and that's stubbornness. He couldn't come to grips with the reality that he wasn't LT anymore.
