In-N-Out needs to move out east.

    More specifically, to Arkansas.

It's the best fastfood burger stand, granted I like burgers from alot of other places better like Hodads or Burger Lounge

It just tastes really really good and its a southern california/south west chain. It's fresh, they can customize and even have a secret menu and it just tastes damn good. THat's all there is

    I hate the "secret menu".

What's the point? Just put it on the menu!

Animal style fries are the greatest.

When you taste it, you will know, Dublin.

Hodad's rules Ant. Had it for the first time in Jan w/ some friends from Aus. when they were in town visiting. Great burger.

I think the trick is that they have their ingredients shipped to them fresh every day, and everything except their bread is scratch made on the spot, so the flavors really come through.

Like everyone else said, it's hard to describe unless you try it yourself. You'll understand once you take that first bite. :)

That's definitely gotta go a long way considering most all burger joints keep their patties and burgers premade on a warmer.

Fresh made beats quicker service that comes with being able to grab one off the burner any day.

We have Burgerville here in the PacNW, which does business the same way. All of their ingredients are seasonal and locally grown, and while the food takes longer and costs more than, say, McDumpster's, it's well worth the wait AND the expense. Mmmmmm.......onion rings made from sweet Walla Wallas, real strawberry shakes with real Oregon strawberries, Tillamook cheddar burgers........eh, I've gotta stop this, I'm drooooooooooling all over the keyboard!

BJ's has good burgers as does Knowlwood's in Orange County...one of the best burgers ever. I like In and Out, and I also like Carl's Junior burgers..Fat Burgers are good as well.

Okay, I know about a couple of the "special" menu options. Here they are for those of you that don't know about them...

Protein Burger - A burger wrapped in lettuce instead of hamburger buns. For the low-carb folks.

Monster Style - Mixed ground beef rather than the usual hamburger patties.

Flavored Fries (?) - Their house dressing (Thousand Island with relish and other stuff) that they put on their burgers put on top of their fries. I'm not sure if that's the official name for it.

Triple/Quadruple/etc. Stacks - Basically as many extra stacks of burgers with cheese that you want to add onto a single burger. I've seen someone eat a stack of 15 burgers once. I've been told that they don't offer this option anymore but I'm not really sure.

I know I'm missing at least one more that I can't remember off the top of my head.. Anyone have any ideas?

Grilled Cheese - no burger patty
    2x4 - 2 beef 4 cheese
Monster Style is like crispier buns and grilled onions and more everything in the burger
    Also know
Neopolitan Shakes - mixes strawberry, chocolate, vanilla ice cream

I had In-N-Out for dinner tonight.

Everything there is made FRESH. That's what sells me.

They are spread out through SD county. But there is one in Mission Valley, not too far from Qualcomm.

My little brother used to work for In-n-Out so he told me all the crazy things they would make, below is the list from wikipedia. Like it's been said before, imo In-n-Out is the best fast food burger b/c everything is fresh and simple. Its just good food, made well for a decent price.

    Secret Menu variations

    * Hamburgers - "Double Meat" or "Triple Meat" for multiple patties.
    * # by # - Any number of patties and slices of cheese.
    * Veggie Burger - a sandwich containing only vegetables, without meat or cheese.
    * Grilled cheese sandwich - served with tomato, lettuce and spread.
    * Extra Everything - adds extra spread, tomato, lettuce, and onions (regular or grilled).
    * Extra Toast - bun is toasted longer.[7]
    * Chopped Chilies - mild, pickled chopped peppers are added to the burger.
    * Protein Style - replace buns with lettuce.
    * Flying Dutchman - meat and cheese and that's it, no bun, no veggies.
    * Animal Style Burger - add pickles, grilled onions, mustard grilled into the burger patty and extra spread.
    * Fries "Light" - Decreased cooking time for a softer product.
    * Fries "Well" - Increased cooking time for a crispier product.
    * Fries "No Boat" - Fries are placed directly onto the serving tray instead of the paper "boat".
    * "Animal Style" Fries - Cheese, spread, and grilled onions.
    * Cheese fries - called fries with cheese
    * Root beer floats
    * "Lemon-Up" - a mixture of lemonade and 7 Up.
    * "Tea-ade" - known as an "Arnold Palmer", a mixture of iced tea and lemonade.
    * Neapolitan shake

    Additional Condiments

    * Spread - packets of refrigerated "Spread", similar to Thousand Island dressing.
    * Yellow Peppers - packets of whole yellow Chili peppers.
    * Pickles - pickles do not come on the burger and can be added upon request

    Onion styles

The company's customization extends to the onions it serves. "Regular Onions" is default and is a whole slice of fresh onions, cooked with the burger. The company will also serve the slice cooked ("whole grilled"), raw chopped, and grilled. How the onion are ordered will determine its placement on the sandwich, raw whole onions are placed with the cold ingredients, cooked onions are on the burger patty.

Sorry LG, but Burgerville sucks. It's not even close to In N Out quality. Although my cousin and her husband, who live in Oregon, love the sweet potato fries they have seasonally.

In-N-Out is pretty good. There's one just a few blocks from my home and it nearly always has a line.

Any of you guys modify their bumper stickers to read "In-N-Out Burger"?

This kind of came from the Friday questionnaire of what our favorite fast food place is, so yeah, I guess that's what we're talking about.

Still, In N Out is still a lot better then most of the fancy burger joints or corner delis I've eaten at.

I've always assumed best fast food was silently understood whenever somebody calls In-N-Out, or any other fast food place, the best.
