    The way the Chargers are playing right now I see them beating Oakland and maybe KC again and most likely Denver in the last game. That would put them at 7-9 for the season. Does anyone else think they'll find a way to pull one more out and finish 8-8? I think that it would be a positive to build on to know they didn't have a losing record after this debacle of a season.

    They have the talent to do it, but I'm not sure if they have the heart. They doesn't even look like they're ready to play a complete game yet. That might be enough to beat the Raiders or the Broncos, but not much else.

    Yes it is. I thought that they would lose to Pitt, and they did. They played decent, but another close loss has to take its tole on the team. I think that they'll probably lose at Tampa, and at KC. They'll probably beat Indy next week, but it's far from a given.

    Why does everybody keep saying that?
    They did NOT play well.

    A good team would have pounded the Steelers.

    I mentioned a week or so ago that I thought it was a real possibility that we would not win another game this season.

    I make it a rule not to post on game day for fear of having emotion and Sierra Nevada cloud my judgment, but since I missed the game entirely, I think I'm ok. ;)

    maybe a 5 - 11 will be the only way to win the rest of the season.

    We might as well just play for a mid to high Draft Pick in next years Draft.

    My hart says 10-6.

    My head says that we will be 6-10. Winning only against Oakland and Denver.

    h-e-a-r-t not h-a-r-t. That's twice tonight. The first time I chalked it up to a typo. Twice, I'm thinking stupidity. :yes:

    :yes: Maybe not even 6!! Today was the nail in the coffin.

    Colts = L
    Atlanta = Humiliating L
    Oakland = Ugly W
    KC = Embarrassing L
    TB = Blowout L
    Denver = The worst L of all

    Every team left on the schedule knows how to beat us. Every team except Oakland has a QB that can drop back and throw the ball to wide open receivers.

    Buh Bye Norv. So long AJ. Adios San Diego Chargers.

    IMO it's looking like 6-10 but I don't think AJ goes. Maybe Norv but not AJ.

    I see them finishing at 8-8. They should beat Atlanta, Raiders, KC, and Denver. I think that Indy and Tampa Bay beat us.....although 7-9 is possible if we can't get by Atlanta.

    I have to agree with you. As good as the defense played we still have some glaring problems in the defensive passing game. Every quarterback has a pro bowl game against us, and Cromartie is really beginning to annoy me.

    No way should we 'play for the high draft pick'!!, don't forget the freaking Pats have our second rounder for super LSU RB Hester.

    I don't believe this season is over. I saw signs of an angry team out there tonight and they were wearing white. We lose one more game and we are done but I truly believe we could right this ship now and start kicking some ***.

    Big message needs to be sent though by AJ;

    Cut Igor now.
    Cut #57 now.
    Cut or bench Manu (his blocking means he does not deserve to be on the field, why did we get Wilson?)
    Bench Cro now (I don't care if Cletis is not healthy enough, heck, move Cason there and stick Oliver in the nickel, Cro cannot cover nothing).
    Try Waters as the cover LB, Coop cannot cover nothing neither. Else get a DB in there to spell the underneath stuff.

    The other guys need to know we are no longer tolerating passengers. Do it AJ, just do it.

    If we win next week, then I can see us get going 10-6. yeah 10-6, which will win the division. But that's a big IF. We just need to get back to within a game on Denver (which will lose at least 2 games) down the stretch to give us that shot in week 17.

    We can do this!!!!

    Given the fact that we have to 4-2 down the stretch just to break even, combined with our maddening performances of late, I say no f'ing way do we get to 8-8.

    Looking at the last 6 objectively, I just can't see us beating the Colts, Falcons or Bucs, and I'm not sold about the Chiefs or Broncos either at this point. Frankly, I would not be all that surprised if we finish 5-11, with the only win being the Raiders.

    Sad state of affairs for a team picked by many to go to the Super Bowl... :icon_cry:

    No more slagging. Let's get behind these guys (minus Igor and #57). :icon_twisted:

    8-8
    4-12
    10-6

    At this point, who cares. What will it get us? False hopes? Better draft pick?

    All Iknow is that AJ has some SERIOUS work cut out for him this off season. Does he or doesn't he keep Norv? If not, then who replaces him? Great season last year to a below average season this year with basically same players. Are players content or do they have to go. IF so, who do you replace them with? Does he chalk this team up to being a good one or a one hit wonder?

    Just think, last year we were all set and the draft was just a formality. Now some here feel that we need to be in a questionable rebuilding period. Did we pay players too much for hwat they are worth? Do we go after Merriman to resign him? Damn I would hate to be AJ this off season.:no:

    That's all we have left as fans. We need to make this 3 game home stand the toughest road games for our visitors. Get out there cheer our hearts out and support the team. 2 things we have going for us this weekend is playing Indy (which for some reason we own) and the fact it's in prime time (which again for some reason we perform well in). So until we are mathematically eliminated from the AFC west crown, I'll keep believing.

    I wanted to be negative on this thread, but I agree with you, I'm a Chargers fan, and I can honestly say I'm a much more mature Chargers fan than I was 5-10-15-20 years back. I don't let it ruin my week anymore, and have actually been able to control any sort of outburst at the end of these heart wrenchers. Maybe a lot of that is because I haven't been drinking that much this season, but I have never bailed on my team, even though we have sucked so many seasons.

    We are still in this hunt, and provided we win out we've got a good chance at the post season.:bolt:

    8-8 is very possible. Think positive, let's think 9-7 with a lucky win over Atlanta, Indianapolis, or Tampa Bay or maybe those will be close, huge offensive shootouts like Denver and we win based on possession alone. As for Indianapolis, we only barely beat them when they were "the only team that could stop the New England Patriots." Now they're struggling but gaining a ton of momentum, emerging as the wildcard upset, and even being labeled the ultimate dark horse for the Lombardi trophy. We better be ont op of our game and really the only thing we have going for us is the lights. It's a prime-time game and it's the Hollywood Chargers.
