In his latest mock draft, the Chargers pass up Fisher, Johnson, and Cooper to draft a WR..... :roflmao:

2013 PFT mock draft, Version 2
Posted by Mike Florio on April 7, 2013, 11:31 PM EDT
We posted an initial mock draft because, well, everyone does.
And we’re now posting a revised mock draft because, well, everyone does that, too.
We’ve also realized that, regardless of the league insiders from whom we get the information on which the mock draft is based, the various Mel Kiper Jr. Juniors in the crowd will declare it’s the worst mock draft they’ve ever seen, to the extent that it deviates from the conventional wisdom of those who don’t make draft picks for a living.
So here’s our updated mock draft, based on the current pick schedule without predicting trades. Even though someone will likely trade back into round one to draft a quarterback.
    1. Chiefs: OT Luke Joeckel, Texas A&M.
    2. Jaguars: DE Dion Jordan, Oregon.
    3. Raiders: DT Sharrif Floyd, Florida.

    9. Jets: WR Cordarrelle Patterson, Tennessee.
    10. Titans: CB Desmond Trufant, Washington.
    11. Chargers: WR Keenan Allen, California.
    12. Dolphins: OT Eric Fisher, Central Michigan.
    13. Buccaneers: WR Tavon Austin, West Virginia.
    14. Panthers: DT Star Lotulelei, Utah.
    15. Saints: OG Jonathan Cooper, North Carolina.
    16. Rams: S Kenny Vaccaro, Texas.
    17. Steelers: LB/DE Damontre Moore, Texas A&M.
    18. Cowboys: CB Xavier Rhodes, Florida State.
    19. Giants: TE Tyler Eifert, Notre Dame.
    20. Bears: DT Sylvester Williams, North Carolina.

Sorry Florio, it also deviates from the conventional wisdom of those whom God gave the wisdom of an Irish goose.

Even if you thought that all of our receivers were worthless (and I don't), you'd have to believe that we A) had talent on the roster on the line somewhere, B) that this guy was a better prospect than Fisher, Cooper, and Johnson, and that C) WRs are more important than linemen.

Since obviously none of these is the case, I don't even think that Matt Millen would make this error.

Moreover, and this is coming from someone who is a Keenan Allen fan, if Florio is taking our GM at his stated word (multiple times and several of them made well prior to "Liar's Month") that Allen was considered a Better Available Player at #11 than Fisher which is flat out ridiculous.

Fisher is, at worst, a Top 10 prospect in this class - I'd argue Top 5 because he's a better OT with a higher ceiling than Joeckel. Allen is being underhyped in this WR class, don't get me wrong - though he's not helping his case by continuing to put off running for scouts (which didn't help Mario Manningham in the slightest). The other issue is that Keenan is a lot of what we already have - he's a WR who runs routes quite well, lacks elite straight-line speed, and will make his money off his ability to rack up YAC; effectively he's a "better" Vincent Brown. The thing is he's not THAT MUCH better as to merit a nearly Top 10 selection or passing on a much-needed stalwart at LOT with legitimate, at worst, Top 10 value in this draft class.

Agreed, but I think Robert Woods is someone who is being underrated in this draft class at Wide Receiver.

Guy caught 12 balls for 224 yards against Richard Sherman his freshman year. Not to mention his crazy 2011 year, and then had somewhat of a down year in 2012, but still reeled in 76 catches 800+ yards and 11 TD's.

Once the "speed guys" go, Woods won't be far after. And I won't be shocked to see him go ahead of some guys who people are ranking higher than him because he's one of the top 2 (I'd argue top, but Da'Rick Rodgers has a strong case as well) run-blocking WR's in this class - and coaches do put a lot of stock in that, particularly in certain offensive schemes (see Minnesota, Buffalo, Seattle - though I don't know they go WR that early anymore, Houston).

Don't sell matt Millen short... he would make that error (and he did it three times).

The dude on Roto World had us mocked with DJ Fluker, out of the two I'd much rather have Allen than Fluker

I think it's kinda of funny. Not so much the pick, but the fact that Fisher is mocked at #12. 100% absolutely no possible way he leaves the top 10...NONE. My uneducated guess says he has like a 5% of leaving the top 5, let alone #12. This made me tear up a bit from laughing uncontrollably.

lmao Sheldon Richardson at #4 huh? I need to get this guy in our contest.
