without a freaking ring, all this doesnt mean a thing!

You can run around all you want thumping your chest claiming to be the best, but after a while all you are doing is getting a red chest.

It could be the best in the century, but without a ring we aint crap.

How can it be "your decade" when you've yet to win a big game. Now...granted, The Chiefs have won nothing either and are not likely to THIS year, but...no one here is claiming otherwise.

If anything its another Oakland decade, as they were the only team to make the Super Bowl.

Although the Chargers won the most division titles.

Chiefs are a distant 3rd/4th with Denver, pretty much irrelvant.

^He's talking about the 2010-2020 decade. To be fair, it could be anyone's decade.

I agree. But not until we get a solid coaching staff. With just the right amount of adjustment, we will come out on top.

In the beginning of this Decade it seems like it is the Chiefs.

Maybe so...but what would we have said in 2000-2001? One thing that's true in the NFL...quick turnarounds are possible.

If the Chiefs can go from winning 10 games in 3 years to 10-11 in a single year, the Chargers can go from an underachieving but talented team to a Superbowl in a year.

The more I watch the NFL, the more I am convinced that success is based not as much on talent (which all teams possess...to varying...but not wildly differing...degrees), but on motivation and teamwork - the ability to get 53 men + a practice squad and coaching staff and trainers etc. all working together, knowing their roles and excelling in them for themselves AND for each other.

The Chargers have the talent. Everyone knows that. They never seemed to have everyone pulling the same direction at once.

If they ever get that...look out.

That's very true, and I'm liking what's going on in New England. I believe they have something like eight draft picks in the first two rounds of this next draft. Brady has a few good years left in him, and Belichick isn't going anywhere...how many rookies start for the Pats?

The Chefs don't own crap if they can't do anything in the playoffs.

Just my opinion here. They are the AFC West Champions and right now that is saying they are much better than us the Chargers who are not the AFC West Champions.

Who cares if they go 1 and done in the Playoffs. They might even go deep into the Playoffs. They are still the AFC West Champions of 2010. The Chargers can not say that at all to start of this Decade.

I didn't contest the notion that they're better than us this year. I only said they don't "own" anything regarding decades if they don't win in the playoffs.

This is true. Of course, this close to a tough loss, there will be those so invested in their illusion of superiority that they will not easily grasp this reality. You can spot them easily enough, they're the ones who trash-talked before (and usually after) almost every game. They're the ones who constantly demeaned not only the opposing teams, but the fanbases and family of fans of other teams. They are the Matilacks and Trumpets of every team - the people who MUST constantly put others down to mask their own insecurities.

Because their carefully crafted construct means so much to their very sense of self, they will be forced to defend it, even when the rest of the world sees it for the paper tiger it is.

The Chiefs may very well be done in two weeks. We may crash and burn in the playoffs. The thing is...even if we do...we still made the playoffs in a REBUILDING year where no one in the world thought we stood a chance of having a .500 record. There is nothing but love for this Chiefs team, this year, no matter what happens in the playoffs.

That being said, I still think we can beat the Jets :)

We will own the AFC West Championship. Now, I am sure that is something you'll belittle as unimportant considering you've owned it for the last few years, but its a pretty big step for a team that has won 10 games combined in the 3 years prior to this one.

It is a big step, but it's just a step nevertheless.

I'm not trying to belittle it, either. I just think it's silly to say a team "owns" a decade if they didn't win the bottom line during the decade.

The Chargers didn't "own" the 2000s for instance.

In the rules of Internet Fan Forum protocol, if you want to talk AFTER the game, you must be here before the game. Everyone gets mad when the fans from other teams come in here after the fact. He has been here for the most part of the entire season. He has taken everything we have thrown at him. And he has been allowed to stay, and he has done everything right.

Now that our season is over, he has the right to gloat till his hearts content! If you guys allowed him to stay, then he must be allowed to rub it in our faces!

Where was he during the Chiefs low points and after we shut them out? Tossing Haley's salad somewhere?

    Right here, genius.

I have been here since week 1. I was gone for two weeks mid season as my grandmother (a lifelong Chiefs fan) passed this year. During that stretch, we were 1-1 - hardly a free fall.

I posted here before, during and after the Brodie Croyle's got shut out.

I agree, I think the F-N Chiefs can beat the more F-N obnoxious Jets, and to be honest, if they play eachother I hope they do beat the Jets.
