It won't affect what we get for Turner. We will probably get the highest comp pick available for Turner.

And it won't directly affect what we get for Florence. What it does, though, is illustrate that he didn't play well enough for the Jags to justify his contract, and what kind of year the player has goes into the formula for determining comp picks. The organization hopes to get a 4th for Flo, but I don't think they'll get more than a 5th.

Damn, what a waste of picks and money. Glad we didn't do that....

The Jags coughed up 9 million for D-flo in '08. Idiots.

I knew this would bite them in the ***. When he signed with them, I kept wondering how they could pay THAT MUCH for him.

Looking more forward to when they release Mike Petersen, he could be useful on the team

I know you're kidding, but just watch the AFCCG against the Pats and see how Welker was able to run ANYWHERE he wanted to. D-blow couldn't cover at all.

He actually didn't do too badly in the AFC Championship. He covered close enough that he got a pick off a tipped ball. A real indictment of his play was @ Indianapolis, where he was repeatedly torched.

In my mind, "D-Blow's" legacy consists of blown coverages and bonehead penalties. We are going to have enough problems signing players that will HELP us. He will probably be wearing silver and barf by June.

    "Just say no to D-blow!!!"

    Go Chargers!!!

I know I've been preaching this msg for ages. D Flo sucks period. He was never much good. When the Jags signed him I went over to a Jax forum and told them so. I told them they would regret it. Great 'let-go' by AJ but v poor 2nd round pick.

Does this affect our comp pick for him or has that already been determined by his 2008 season performance & his initial contract? :icon_shrug:

It just proves that sometimes the best personnel moves are the signings you DON'T make.

Florence was Dale Carter-esque. Tantalyzing physical talent, coupled with a totally boneheaded mental approach to the game.

As was said about Carter years ago, "All Pro tools, Waiver Wire concentration".

Yep, might be something to look into if Sproles doesent come back.

He sounds like LoNeal type of a person.

He was responsible for giving up two TDs, several big gainers, and commited some penalties too, IIRC.

Definitely a case of addition by subtraction.
