    Quentin Jammer spoke yesterday about what it means to players that their general manager's preference is to prioritize those already on the team rather than spending mass amounts on free agents.

    "It gives the players the confidence in the team to come out, to work every day, and they know they're working toward something," Jammer said. "They know they're working toward a Super Bowl. They know they're working toward being able to stay here in San Diego. It's a big morale boost to know they're out here watching you and they know how hard you're working, and they'll reward you later."</blockquote>
