Isn't he kind of a loud mouth me me kind of person.. I would guess it just depends if he can fit in whether they'd take him or not.

if he know's he's a depth player only, then sure why the heck not. He'd be outstanding to rotate in and out with Phillips and Merriman

Well, besides, isn't he an OLB anyway? Don't we need another ILB? I just can't see signing this guy to big buck to add "depth". We need a WR and a saftey too much to be wasting money on a depth player IMO.:icon_huh:

I would play him inside. His ability can overtake his experience. I believe if we were to add him to our defense, we could be the best defense for years to come. Add a safety and a WR, our SB hopes would be that much better.

Is it hard to switch between ILB and OLB?

Is there that much of a difference between the two LBer positions?

    This is an honest question.

He would be a menace inside. Still, his price will be more than we should spend IMO.

Without making a statement on whether or not he could do it, switching from outside to the inside is probably tougher in a 3-4 than a 4-3.

not to mention porter is a damn good QB seeking missile
if he accepts his role he and Harris would be outstanding depth at OLB with Dobbins and someone else backing up inside

I don't see Porter being worth the money he could get elsewhere...but if he comes cheap, why not?

What would Merriman's reaction be if this loud mouth trash talking moron starts barking orders in training camp?

Porter thinks of himself as a self-proclaimed leader, which he wouldnt be on our team.

Well IF Porter wants to become a Charger and IF the Chargers accept him I don't believe Porter will cause conflict. He has a great respect for the Charger organization and he understands how it is. The reason he was the self-proclaimed leader of the Steelers Defense was because they needed someone to step up.
