My roommates and I got into a heated discussion about the Chiefs. I claimed there not as good as their record states, I acknowledge Andy Reid and the talent the Chiefs have on their roster, but they really haven't been tested.

They've faced Case Keenum, Jason Campbell, and Ryan Fitzpatrick, none have ever had a winning NFL season at QB.

I believe the Cheifs are beatable. Their offense is too conservative and if you shut down Charles, which I know is a hard thing to do, they don't have much. I feel the Chargers can beat them in both games the way Philip Rivers has been playing this year.

Want to hear some of your opinions..

They haven't won a game against a team with a winning record. Dallas did, at the time they played them. But other than that?

That said, they do have a tough defense. You don't sack a QB 10 times (as they did vs. Oakland) with a mediocre defense.

They are beatable. But their D is for real. I think they will make the playoffs and lose the first game. Their O cant keep them in a game against a team that is balanced.

Their wins have come against some of the worst teams in the NFL.
    Jauarg (0-7)
Cowboys (4-4) this is the best record of a team KC has beaten
    Eagles (3-5)
    Giants (2-6)
    Titans (3-4)
    Raiders (3-4)
    Texans (2-5)
    Browns (2-5)

Their D had to step up in many of those games and win late because the O was incapable of maintaining consistent drives.

They could easily go 1-3 over their next 4 games, conceivable 0-4.
    Bills (3-5)
    Broncos (7-1)
    Chargers (4-3)
    Broncos (7-1)

A combined 19-40.. But, Chargers opponents are a combined 20-31 also..

I just think that they've caught breaks at the right time, regarding their opponents' best players being hurt. Also, Chiefs got 10 sacks because of their poor OL play. It was horrendous and Terrelle Pryor was scrambling all day which led to sacks.

The good news, is that this means that--if ever need be--you have roommates you can take advantage of. ;)

    Case Keenum = Johnny Unitas*

    Jason Campbell = Joe Montana**

    Ryan Fitzpatrick = Tom Brady***

    A Real QB.jpg

    * Keenum & Unitas have both played QB for an NFL team.
** Campbell & Montana are both bipeds
*** Fitzpatrick & Brady are both carbon-based lifeforms

These comparisons only work when those QBs are against the Chargers defence i.e. Pryor a couple weeks ago.

They're good enough to be 8-0. Last time I checked, your W-L record is what gets you into the post-season & a chance at a championship.

Are they beatable? Sure - any team is. And until WE do it I'll refrain from casting any aspersions on their abilities.

I don't think anyone is arguing whether "your W-L record is what gets you into the post-season & a chance at a championship."

I do think there's legitimate debate whether or not the Chiefs are as good as an 8-0 record suggests.

Yes, they have won all of their games, but because they've beaten mostly weak teams (by an average of 11.75 points)
without quality quarterbacks, a lot of folks don't think the Chiefs even look like the NFL's strongest team.

For comparison, I just ran the numbers on the 2007 Patriots, when they were 8-0.

I think most fans would say that the Pats played a higher caliber of opponent (including crushing the Chargers
by 24, in a season that the Chargers were otherwise 11-4)
and truly dominated those games, winning by an
    average of 25.5 points!
No one was saying that the Pats were a 'soft' 8-0.

You play the teams placed in front of you. They've beaten the opponents that they should have beaten, We've lost to some that we should have beaten.

Can they be beaten? Of course - any team can. Are they overrated? It's hard to say that a team that is 8-0 is overrated. I'll reserve that sort of talk until after WE beat them. Until then, I don't think we have much room to speak to their status.

Tude, it's what the Bolts haven't had except for 1963. Sure they have been able to light up scoreboards, the only problem is, so have the other teams. When the Bolt defense starts to play with controlled anger as if you just pushed Mom down a flight of stairs on a cold snowy day, that is when they will bring home the hardware. Until then, our most precious choir boys will sing second line.

The simple truth is they win the games they are suppose to win "Titans, Texans, and Raiders" unlike the chargers. We should be 7-0 as well, but we never finish game!

Depends what Buffalo's offense can do. If they don't turn the ball over they have a great chance. I think Buffalo's defense can get after Alex Smith and Jamaal Charles.

Chiefs are a good team who live off others mistakes. If you have a good QB and don't make mistakes, you put Alex Smith in a posistion to win for them which he can't against most defense but against ours can be JoeCool. Lucky for us Rivers had the ball last to put a drive together.
