    Panthers cut Keyshawn

Keyshawn Johnson was released by the Carolina Panthers Tuesday, leaving one of the NFL's most productive receivers looking for a third team in as many years.

""They said they wanted to get younger,'' Johnson said. ""That's fine with me. I'd like to go somewhere and help someone win another Super Bowl.''

Johnson, 34, spent the weekend working for ESPN in New York during their NFL draft coverage and will undoubtedly receive offers to work in broadcasting. But his first choice is to play another season or two.

The move was somewhat surprising since the Panthers paid Johnson a $3-million roster bonus April 1. Carolina drafted Southern Cal receiver Dwayne Jarrett and also have Keary Colbert.

Last season, Johnson caught 70 passes for 815 yards and four touchdowns, two of them against Tampa Bay.

Johnson even joked that he would consider returning to the Bucs.

""Me and Jon Gruden together again. You never know,'' he said laughing. ""Billy Martin and George Steinbrenner did it.''

I'd like to see Keyshawn in a Chargers uni. There's no doubt in my mind he can still be productive.

What is so funny about this is, Keyshawn was pimpin' Jarrett saying how he reminded him of himself, and I said (outloud) lets see how excited you are when he takes your job:icon_rofl:

Yep. And he was also running his mouth about how much sense it would make for the Panthers to draft Brady Quinn if he was still available. Perhaps they didn't appreciate him shooting his mouth off about matters that should not concern him.

Well, if the Patriots can break their ideology and bring in a bonafide quitter like Randy Moss. One would think it's now OK for AJ to bring in a competitive guy like Keyshawn to bring a veteran presence to our WR corps.

I'd actually be fine with it.

I wouldn't mind Keyshawn, though I think he's overrated at this point in his career. He'd be there to fill the experience void and that's about it.

i believe keyshawn can definitely be an asset to this team. experience he has, but i think it's more of the techniques and tricks of the trade that can really set him apart from other wide receivers (FAs and those recently traded) and our young receiving corp would learn alot. it would be more ideal to bring in keyshawn than moss because moss still depends on his speed. where as keyshawn, as old as he is and with his somewhat adequate (he's not slow by any means is he?) speed he has had to become more technical in creating separation from cbs to gain those 800+ yds he had last season.

    BRING HIM IN AJ!!!
