Personally, I think he may just be using leverage of the offseason free agent market at this point, which is of course the obvious thing to do. I do believe he stated on 1090 a month or so ago that he wanted to stay a Charger. Either way, who would want to leave a premier position on a great offensive line? Playing between NOW probowler left tackle Marcus McNeill and probowler Nick Hardwick for many many years sounds like a great way to solidify a career. Still, I understand the nature of sports. AJ's dollar value will only stretch so far. I hope he is a Charger next season, but with the talent on this squad and AJ's scouting ability, I'm hoping that we will have an answer either way.

Dielman is, IMO, the biggest priority for the Chargers this offseason. He MUST be re-signed, even if AJ has to overpay.

I would give Dielman 4.75 mil a year with a nice bonus and incentives. 6 mil a year is out of the question.

If it weren't for the Chargers Dielman probably wouldn't even be playing in the NFL right now.

    What difference does that make?

If it weren't for the Colts taking a cast off, cut from the Steelers, we wouldn't have seen the greatest QB in NFL history. #19.

It's not how you get there, it's what you do when you get there.

    Loyalty.

AJ knows what Dielman is worth and that is all Dielman will be getting. If he says no, AJ will franchise him and trade him away.

I dunno wot it will take but I think it ridiculous if you are Kris Dielman to be demanding 6m a year. There is no doubt he has improved dramatically from the days of being a scrub DT. I just hope he sees the light ala Gates and takes what he is offered which will be fair. At the end of the day what difference will 1/2m a year mean on top of 4m?, c'mon u can only drive one car/truck/SUV at a time.

C'mon Kris do the right thing, c'mon bak and get urself a ring!!!.

Dielman has a more complete game than Steinbach. He is a better run blocker and almost as good a pass blocker, but I will say that Steinbach is the best pass protecting guard in the league. Comparing Steinbach to Hutchinson makes no sense though. If anything Dielman is more like Hutchinson in style of play, and he had a better year than Hutchinson did IMO.

Why don't we just resign Dielman and sign Steinbach, and have Goff as a great back up?

Dielman is going to get lots of money in FA but he might want to come back
Steinbach is a great alternative but hes #2 to Dielman #1
If not then its probably Scott Mrzucowski at LG and Mike Goff is at the end of his three year contract, isn't he?
