SAN DIEGO ---- Backup Chargers running back Michael Turner swears he won't. Turner said he's not even tempted to give LaDainian Tomlinson a little jab to the chest Sunday to increase his playing time.

"No, I'm not going to do it like that,'' Turner said, with a grin. "We are going to need him in the future.''

The future is now for the Chargers, as they need a victory Sunday over the visiting Miami Dolphins to keep pace in the race for a playoff berth. But Tomlinson won't be off when the team stares down Miami, something he confirmed on Friday afternoon.

    "I'm fine,'' Tomlinson said.

Friday was the first day this week Tomlinson was able to work. He has been resting his bruised chest, not wanting to aggravate it by having someone bump into him. Tomlinson absorbed the injury Sunday night when Oakland Raiders linebacker Danny Clark delivered a cheap shot at the bottom of the pile.</blockquote>
