I agree, I like this pick, reminds me of when we picked Legadu a couple years ago, hopefully he gains a little weight and learns to block though.

I think Norv likes the kid on our PS too, Brad Taylor.. Having 4 tight ends isn't needed on the roster, Rosario is deff out.

We now have Gates, McMichael, and Green.. another weapon for Phillip Rivers..

I think him gaining weight will be Chargers priority this off season.

the fact we've gotten the top 5 players from each of their positions is really saying something of how well were drafting..

It says AJ is probably listening to other people for once.

Green is a boom or bust player for sure, but its definately not a reach.

Ya maybe Spanos should tell him his job is on the line every year. Maybe then he will quit buying into all the AJ is god garbage, and actually draft top players, instead of reaching for average ones. It's definitely one of his better drafts. Atleast on paper.

I'm thinking highly of Green. He has the size, ball skills, and speed to be a quicker Antonio Gates. Who better to learn from? He has two great vets to listen from, Gates & McMichael, I could see this kid being a Pro Bowler in the near future.

I just don't see a bust in this kid.. He just needs to be groomed and coached well, he has all the other skills..

Route running and blocking can be done by coaching and the guidance of two great veterans at the position..

You can't coach ball skills, hands, size, strength, etc.

Also him being a red zone threat with that size, will help our red zone struggles. I think the Bears who selected behind us got a pretty damn good TE as well, Evan Rodriguez..

We'll use this kid like a big WR as much as a TE.

Just more weapons for Phillip down the road.. So far he has Floyd, Meachem, Royal, Brown, Gates, Green, and Mathews.. More to come I'm sure..

Given the fact he is so injure-prone, he'll most likely be another Patrick Crayton.. be surprised if he made it out of camp, either him or Spurlock will be cut..

I like this pick. big TE. Good ball skills. need work with blocking. but hey this kid has a lot to work with. I think he lead his team in receptions. so he's used to getting work. boy he could really work in our system. especially with no true #1 reciever (i guess unless you're counting Gates). But good pick overall! Thanks AJ.

He's everything McMichael is not, which is going to be a big boost to this offense, especially in the red zone. He also provides some security in the (now seemingly annual) event that Gates is unable to play.

BS, the cupboard is nearly bare on the D save Weddle. Just good is not enough this year, we need multiple impact players. That said, I think AJ got a few.

Well, it's not quite bare. Butler played very well last year. If Phillips can stay healthy, unlike last year, he still has some very good football left. Barnes has shown he's capable of 10+ sacks as a situational pass rusher. Jammer and Cason were not as horrible last year as some think. Our pass rush was even worse than the stats would suggest, as quite a few of our 32 sacks were of the coverage variety. Spikes is still a baller, and our D line rotation looks solid. Gilchrist flashed potential.

I've said it I don't know how many times now, but if Pag's instills a relentless knock your teeth out and kick you in the balls defense this team will be going places. The bolt's are still light at the safety spot, an enforcer is needed back there IMHO. but a tough and attacking front seven can hide this deficiency.
