There was some strange rule interpretation that prevented it before. They're doing it now to give him time to catch on with another team.

There goes the Pulp Fiction meme.

English said he looks back on his time in San Diego as a "blessing." ;)

"There always is adversity," he said. "There are some things you have to deal with in life. It's about how you bounce back from them. That's what makes you the person you are. I look at my time in San Diego, and I'm grateful for the opportunity. It built me as a person. It made me stronger. I got to meet some great people there along the way."

It was a long time coming but he can't say he didn't get a fair shot. I'd much rather he made it.

    Released, and already replaced.......

The San Diego Chargers continued a busy Tuesday with the addition of Adrian Hamilton.

The outside linebacker was most recently with the Baltimore Ravens, recording one tackle in two games in 2012. He attended training camp that season with the Dallas Cowboys before joining the Ravens practice squad in September. He eventually was elevated to the active roster for the team’s stretch run to a Super Bowl championship, although he was inactive the entire postseason. Hamilton missed the entire 2013 season after suffering a wrist injury and was waived last month.

A star at Prairie View A&M, the 6-3, 255-pounder recorded 108 tackles, 26 sacks and 34.5 tackles for loss over two seasons. Hamilton led the nation with 20.5 sacks his senior season, besting Robert Mathis’ Southwestern Atlantic Conference single-season record along the way.

I hope he catches on somewhere, and has a little better luck with staying healthy. That said, I'm glad the Bolts cleared him out; he wasn't in their long-range plans, and the coaches have a lot of people to look at in that slot.

His cap savings were well spent on Woodhead.

Actually Woodhead signed an extension of his current deal, so I'm not sure his cap hit will be any more this season.

Haven't seen any details yet on that.

Are we going to have any line backers to fill out the IR list this season?

English seemed like a good guy but I'm not sure he was all that even if he could have got on the field. I'm fine with this move.

It seems that the Chargers new management is actually looking at everyone and scrutinizing these players for their actual abilities and what they bring to the team. Sounds like good business practices. It might irritate some people to see what is happening, but like we used to say in a previous profession, "So sad, so sorry, so long."
