League's committee on Los Angeles recommends Carson project:

"HOUSTON -- NFL owners began their league meeting on Los Angeles relocation at 9 a.m. CT and have heard presentations in support of the Carson project for the Raiders and Chargers and one for the Rams. The Carson presentation was made by Disney Chairman Robert Iger, who would oversee the development of the stadium if owners approve the plan. Chargers owner Dean Spanos also made what was said to be an impassioned plea on behalf of his family. The owners also received the recommendation of the league's committee on Los Angeles: The six-member committee recommended the Carson project.

How much sway the committee's recommendation has with the rest of ownership remains to be seen, although it is unusual for ownership to go against the recommendation of a committee.

In recent days, though, momentum seems to have shifted to a compromise solution: The Rams and Chargers pairing in Stan Kroenke's proposed Inglewood stadium, with the Raiders remaining in Oakland, an idea being pushed by the Dallas Cowboys' owner Jerry Jones. When the meeting opened on Tuesday, that compromise -- which would have the Chargers either as partners with Kroenke or as his tenant -- was seen as the only proposal that could garner the 24 votes necessary for approval. Without it, ownership is divided between the Carson and Inglewood proposals and neither side is thought to have the 24 votes for approval.

Of all three teams, the Chargers have the most support because owners feel Spanos has been a good partner and do not want to leave him out of Los Angeles. But there is a block of owners -- Jones is among them -- who strongly support the Inglewood stadium and Kroenke.

The meeting was scheduled to run through Wednesday, although there was some hope that a vote could be taken by the end of Tuesday."

There you have Chargers Nation. The petulant owner who apparently feels he was wronged by almost everyone else. Poor, poor Deadpanoses. I'm out... Farg 'em and I now hope that he is permitted to leaves San Diego and takes his garbage with him.

Blitzy officially as of today: January 12th of 2016, turns into a turncoat and a Chargers Troll :sneaky:

Does that mean the Chargers are going to LA then?

Not yet! The 6 member committee chose the Carson plan above all else (personally not surprised since Bob Iger is heading the Carson Project with the backing of Goldma Sux) but the owners still have to vote!

Ahh ok, so does it just mean they've chosen Carson rather than Inglewood to be the site of the team(s) that move to LA and now they have to vote on which teams will move?

All it means is that the 6 man committee recommends the Carson Project. I will not be super surprised if the impasse continues and both the Chargers and the Raiders play the 2016 season in their current respective Cities. But still, I'm out!

NFL owners completed their first vote. Neither project got required 24, but Rams/TBD in Inglewood gets more votes than Carson.

But Deano is still a pansy POS!

He will eventually have to submit to becoming a Kroenke b*tch. Kroenke will eventually have to compensate, eh, buy that Carson landfill. Both Bob Iger and G.S. will make some $ out of Kroenke without getting their hands dirty with the likes of Deano Spanos.

San Diego will eventually get either the Raiders or the Jaguars.

How's all that for figments of my own imagination :D

Latest rumors from ESPN/NLF Net are that it will be the Chargers and then Rams or Raiders.

Carson Project was recommended by the LA Committee because the members are in Dean's camp. Kroenke's camp has Jones, Snyder and and some other top billionare owners. Neither the Chargers/Raiders or the Kroenke proposal have enough votes.

It's gonna come down to Chargers and Rams with Raiders getting paid to not move to LA.

Official word now is that Rams have been approved, with Chargers being given option to move in 2017 or 2018.

Was it Spanos who said he hopes he has enough of the votes to be able to move? Sounds like someone who is really backing the city and the franchise doesn't it???

He had bad info. He thought Carson would get approved. The relocation committee voted 5-1 in favor of Carson. Usually the owners back whatever a committee recommends. He was described as "shocked" that he didn't get approval. Now he's scrambling and the NFL is telling him what to do. All that is left is being the second team in LA. The Rams are in and it's Inglewood. Yhe Chargers said they would not join Kroenke as recently as December. Has to reverse field now if he wants LA or put his tail between his legs and see if he gets the vote in San Diego. He'll have to fire Fabiani immediately

Kroeske won and the City of St. Louis lost. Spanos has the option to go and collect his so-called 25% in person if he likes :roflmao:

Oh, and no amount of money can clean up that toxic mess in Carson, or at least not in 6 years according to the EPA report. (Unless even the EPA can be bought...) Good luck Stan!

Good post, beats a 7 paragraph rambling raving drivel that would eventually blame Telesco for everything that's gone wrong...

LMFAO at attendance if they are in SD next year

Man, I am still holding out hope on our best case scenario (which is still viable): Spanos butthurt leads to selling the team.

LOL he got told hard today tho. BRB buying LA Rams gear ;)

The League will give the Chargers, and the Raiders 100 million forwards a new stadium if they stay where they are.

Chargers, Rams to immediately work on a deal
Posted by Mike Florio on January 12, 2016, 9:08 PM EST

The Rams have secured approval to move to Los Angeles. The Chargers have, too. The site selected by the league is in Inglewood.

Now, the Rams and Chargers must work out terms of a marriage. That process, per a source with knowledge of the situation, begins tonight.

If a deal is reached, the two teams would both play at the Coliseum pending completion of the stadium in Inglewood.

In all, the Chargers have a year (and possibly two) to work something out with the Rams. The current expectation is that it won’t take that long.

Unreasonable terms by the Rams and/or an aggressive push by San Diego to lure the Chargers to stay could derail the arrangement at this point. However, the Chargers hold all the cards as to San Diego, since the Chargers need no further approval from anyone to leave town.
