SAN DIEGO - The Chargers leave the Left Coast on Thursday, hoping their left tackle continues to improve.

Leander Jordan's task is to keep first-year starting quarterback Philip Rivers upright. That means protecting Rivers' blind side, which could be a challenge in Friday night's exhibition game against the Chicago Bears.

The Chargers and Jordan protected Rivers well in their exhibition opener against Green Bay on Saturday night. Rivers wasn't sacked and had the time to complete 15 of 21 passes for 169 yards and a touchdown.</blockquote>
