Checking out stats on offensive players, and felt obligated to comment about the WRs top 10 after week 1.

Here is the list based on yards gained.

RK PLAYER TEAM REC -TAR -YDS- AVG- TD -LONG -20+ -YDS/G -FUM -YAC -1DN
    1 Austin Collie, WR IND 11 12 163 14.8 1 73 2 163.0 1 0 5
    2 Chad 85, WR CIN 12 13 159 13.3 1 28 2 159.0 0 0 8
    3 Matt Forte, RB CHI 7 7 151 21.6 2 89 2 151.0 2 0 3
    4 Miles Austin, WR DAL 10 11 146 14.6 1 30 3 146.0 0 0 8
    5 Steve Breaston, WR ARI 7 7 132 18.9 0 35 3 132.0 0 0 6
    6 Mark Clayton, WR STL 10 16 119 11.9 0 39 2 119.0 0 0 5
    7 Brandon Lloyd, WR DEN 5 8 117 23.4 0 41 3 117.0 0 0 5
    8 Roddy White WR ATL 13 23 111 8.5 0 18 0 111.0 0 0 5
    9 Anquan Boldin, WR BAL 7 10 110 15.7 0 38 2 110.0 0 0 4

    9Legedu Naanee, WR SD 5 8 110 22.0 1 59 1 110.0 0 0 5
    11 Hines Ward, WR PIT 6 7 108 18.0 0 25 3 108.0 0 0 4

Now lookin at these #s it seems to me very conceiveable to move Legs as far as 8th over all as far as production value.

Roddy White had good #s but with 10 drop/missed passes. Cut off 5 drops and 5 catches and hes at 8 of 19 caught passes bout 49% sucsess. Zero TD catches. He did still get 5 1st down catches and got 1 more yard.

Boldin also had pretty good game also. Alot better avg to catch the balls thrown to him at 70%. Had same ydg thou as Legs at 110 on more catches. One more 20+ yder Legs of course only 20+ was a gimmie. One less catch for 1st down than legs.

LEGS had a pretty good % to catch passes his way, had a TD, had one more 1st down than Boldin and tied White.

And so based on that I really can see LEGS as 8th ranked WR leauge wide at this point. All positions counted as Forte had a pretty damn good receiveing day for a back in one game vs WRs totals.

Lookin forward to another 100+ yd production out of my BOY!! GO BOLTS!!

Edit: prob should jus check out the stats on the webpage vs here not comin across as ez to read, I tryed to space it out and nothin lol.

I would feel better if it wasn't for the drops and the incredible coverage that he beat on the 59 yard TD....

You got me curious about the rest of the list and how our other bolts stacked up in the drops dept. Looks like the drops ur referring too more came from M80 than Naanee:

RK PLAYER TEAM REC TAR YDS AVG TD LONG 20+ YDS/G FUM YAC 1DN
    43 Malcom Floyd, WR SD 3 12 48 16.0 0 22 1 48.0 0 0 3

So if we can even consider these #s accurate *who does count the dropped passes vs thrown away* Floyd had 9 drops. Im sure at least half of those were from falling down alone. He did catch 3 for 1st downs. Legs still had less drops/missed catches to catches for 1st down than most receivers in the leauge. Id say hes doin pretty good. Floyd looks like he could end up swapping roster spots with Naanee if he doesnt catch more passes hes thrown.

RK PLAYER TEAM REC TAR YDS AVG TD LONG 20+ YDS/G FUM YAC 1DN
    95 Randy McMichael, TE SD 2 2 28 14.0 0 20 1 28.0 0 0 1
    100 Buster Davis, WR SD 2 4 26 13.0 0 22 1 26.0 0 0 1

And CBD did get at least one of 2 passes for a 1st down the other for no gain. One of his 2 drops was a TD.
Also way to go new TE. I thought I saw at least one occasion with 3 TEs on the field. 100% caught passes, one for 20 yds and a 1st down.

Far as are we missing VJ yet? The answer is deffinatly no.

Well I prob got too curious lookin through the whole list of 200+ players who caugt a pass in week 1. But our RBs looked awful on every pass they caugt.

    Hester 2/2 6 yds
    Sproles 2/3 2 yds
    Mathews 1/2 2 yds
So over all backs got 5/7 passes for only 10 yds.

Understanding that a few of these were dump off passes with no hope to gain much more than 2 yds, but man I hope our backs can start developing some good gains out of these opportunities. Especialy if we are going to keep playing Musical Backs.

We deffinatly still have work to do on our passing game, but I dont see so much a prob with the #1 or #2 receivers so far.

Every target that does not result in a completion is not a drop.
