Remember last night, on that run by Lo Neal, where he "fumbled" it and the play was challenged by Norv?

Well, look at the following picture that was taken during the play.

    Hmmmm...

Looks like Lo Neal was touched by a Cardinal at the 20 yard line spun in the air and hit the ground. He then got up, ran a little, and was hit again, and the ball popped out.

Lo Neal should have been DOWN BY CONTACT around the Arizona 20 yard line.

It certainly does .. nice pic. Of course I really thought his knee was down before the ball came out after that as well.

He shouldn't have been getting the damn ball so much anyway. Hell it was feature LoNeal night for some reason. Passing to him is only good for a comical break.

Yeah he was down there. Also he should have protected the ball later anyway. They could rip his plays out of the playbook and be much better off. Let someone else run those routes if you just feel you have to throw them to set something else up. Designed passed to Neal are a waste.

I love watching LoNeal get the ball and will never get tired of it. It is just like watching Manu catch and run. Beautiful.

Killer photo. That is what I saw as well. Down by contact and even the knee was down before the ball popped out later. Bad call by the refs and what basically killed my 10K Boltcash bankroll

    Crap.

I looked at this again, and this wasn't taken when Lo Neal was spinning in mid air.

Lo Neal was "touched" 3 times by a defender.

1st time - he spun in the air and fell to the ground.

2nd time - he was hit by a diving defender but maintained his balance and kept running.

3rd time - he was tackled and his knee hit the ground at the time the ball popped out.

This photo is of the 2nd time.

I figured he had to of touched the cardinal, if he hadn't his knee touching would have no baring on the situation.

If the throw is to set the defense up, then switching players will tip the set up off. Not going to Lorenzo on those plays nullifies any scheme designed to fool a defense. They have to run off the normal players and formations. In any event, the fumble was a bad call, missed on the previous tackle and missed again on the second. How the refs missed something that obvious is beyond me. This kind of crap best not happen during the season.

I think we might see more of Lo Neal carrying the ball this year, his weight is down and his speed is up... that play was an amazing athletic display, even though he fumbled.

Come on, Norv, put the Lo Neal option pass in the playbook LOL

He didn't actually fumble. If I were the Chargers, I'd bring this up in the weekly bull sessions with the league. The officials blew it.

True, it wasn't actually a fumble but if they are testing him out to see if he can play more of a role carrying and recieving the ball, that "fumble" might give them cause for concern...

I hope they give him more carries, less of that pass out to the flat that goes nowhere.

no. jammer showed examples of what stripping the ball is, the ball came out of his hands as a result of hitting the ground and we all know the ground cant cause a fumble.

If you just get a fingertip on a player and he hits the ground he is considered down by contact.therefore, Neal was down when he jumped over the first defender. Thats what the call should have been but oh well...preseason so who cares.

When he hurdled the 1st tackler and went down the play should have been dead.

The fumble should not have mattered, although when I looked at it I thought it was.

Refs blew that one and 3800. biotches :icon_evil:

He was actually down by contact twice. After Lo got back up and ran, his knee came down just before the ball was knocked loose. That ref sucked balls.

Yeah, because 24 points and nearly 300 yards of offense in a half +1possession is just disgraceful. The Chargers need to rip up the playbook.

From the two camera angle we were given during the game I couldn't tell if he actually jumped over the player by spring boarding off his back with that free hand or not. From the camera that was above and head-on, it looked like he sprung over him.
Was this shot from someone with a still camera? because this angle was not shown last night.
