By Chet Barfield

Local tribes couldn't and wouldn't build the Chargers a new stadium on reservation land, but at least two would be willing to consider investing as financial partners in any stadium-development proposals they might be offered, Viejas and Sycuan officials said yesterday.

No such offers have been made to either tribe, despite speculation among fans hoping for any alternative to keep the team from relocating.

Frank Riolo, Viejas Enterprises chief executive, said he will appear on a radio talk show this morning with local politicians and team executives to explain what tribes can and can't do to keep the Chargers in San Diego County.
