Enough looking back. I'm looking forward to KC. The Bolts can point their season in the right direction this week with a win at home versus a suspect KC squad.

On offense, I'm looking for the Chargers to pass, pass, pass. Teams are going to continue to play 8 and 9 man fronts to stop LT. The only way to change that is to make them pay for it through the air. The Bolts wide receivers should be able to get open against the Chiefs aging secondary, and like every other team in the league, the Chiefs have no answer for Gates. The real key to the passing game is to protect Rivers. If Rivers has time to throw, he should be very productive. Once the passing game is established, LT should be able to find more daylight.

On defense, the Chargers need to bring the pain. The Chiefs offense should not strike fear into anybody. The Bolts just need to be extremely aggressive, stacking the box to shut down LJ and blitzing Huard relentlessly.

A win against the Chiefs this week and the Chargers will be battling the Broncos for first place next week. It's really that simple.

As long as their WR Eddie Kennison is out, the Chiefs have no offense. Teams can focus on double teaming Gonzalez and Bowe, and stopping Larry Johnson.

Tony G. and LJ don't even have any TDs yet! :icon_eek:

Dwayne Bowe has their only two TD of the year.

I am sure we can put up points against the Chiefs, but will we be able to stop them from doing the same? I am sure they have watched film from the NE and GB games and will have whatever receivers available running slants till the cows come home.

The shaky safety play combined with a frightening lack of pass rush makes me very nervous. I am rooting hard, but at this point, they need to show me something.

The Chiefs only have two halfway decent receivers, not 4 like the Pats and Packers had. Double-team them and let the rest go after Larry Johnson.

I'm not so sure about us being able to score. Herm Edwards has always had success defending us.

If this game is a blowout I will be surprised.

LTs first 100+ yard game is coming courtesy of the Chiefs this week. The O-line is being called out by the national TV and radio media. They've been getting blown up. I think this is the week it all comes together and they play angry.

I dunno. In the last 5 games versus a Herm Edwards team, the Chargers have failed to score 20 points just once and that was the playoff game.

Do you think the Chiefs can score 20 against us this year?

I'm flying down for this game, and I'm expecting to see the Chiefs get slaughtered.

I sure hope you and BDH are right. I thought the exact same thing before Green Bay: The Bolts fired up after a bad loss, playing a less-talented team.

Then we came out flat, and failed to make adjustments during the course of the game.

So while I'm expecting a win, last week taught me not to go overboard with the optimism.

Yup, the Packers look to have one of the 5 best offenses this year.

The Queefs have one of the 3 worst.

Sorry dude... I just couldn't resist. Been watching the TD given up by Cro'... dude's a fuggin' quitter.

    OK, now for the optimism...

    ...wait...

    ...here it comes...

ahem... Teddy Cottrell now has a firm handle on our defensive problems and has these guys on board with his plan. The players have had 3 weeks now to gel and I really think they're gonna take it out on the Chiefs!!! We're gonna beat the livin' fuc out of the Chiefs!!!!

Not sure that Cro "quit" on the play, but somebody was playing the wrong defense. Cro was playing outside technique. Either he was supposed to have inside help or he just thought he was supposed to have inside help.
