ESPN's Page 2 is listing the top 50 active players likely to be HoF'ers. LT is #9.

Really it's a weird list though. Calvin Johnson is #40. Adrian Peterson is #50. And Reggie Bush is ahead of Edge. I usually don't get into lists for this reason. Seems they are made up to create controversy.

    9. LaDainian Tomlinson

    LaDainian Tomlinson
"He is the finest running back to ever wear an NFL uniform." That is former Chargers coach Marty Schottenheimer's assessment of Tomlinson. While that appraisal might be a bit premature, Tomlinson does rank sixth in career rushing touchdowns after just six seasons, and he could move as high as No. 2 this season. LT has averaged more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage per season and he's a Canton shoo-in if he adds one or two more seasons of similar production, whether or not he wins a Super Bowl. If he remains healthy -- and his impeccable workout regimen makes it likely that he will -- he does indeed have a chance to go down as the best ever at his position.

    14. Junior Seau

    Junior Seau
Seau has been punishing ballcarriers and quarterbacks since 1990, when many of today's stars had yet to begin puberty. Drafted fifth overall by the Chargers, Seau is the only 1990 first-rounder still active in the NFL. He's recorded more than 100 tackles eight times, has 53 career sacks and was named to 12 consecutive Pro Bowls from 1991-2002. Seau was named to the 1990s All-Decade team by the Hall of Fame and has been named first-team All-Pro six times.

If rookies who haven't played a single down in the NFL are on that list I don't even need to read it to know it's dogshit.

    No doubt.

In fact, LT's shoes from 2003 are already in Canton. The rest of him will follow in time.

I want to see FIVE years - minimum - from a player before he's even in the discussion of being a Hall of Fame caliber inductee.

Gates is on the threshold of beginning to consider if he continues on the same level for another 4-5 years.

Reggie Bush, Shawne Merriman, and these rookies need to wait 3-5 years before the discussion even starts.

Another stupid list that is a big waste of time .... typical ESPN bull ****.

"With the prospect of playing against the Raiders twice a season for the rest of his career, it's not difficult to imagine Merriman ranking among the career sacks leaders someday."

    thats funny

Maybe that's why it's on ESPN page two...

STUPID to talk about the hall IMO until it's time to think about hanging them up...

    ESPN?

Yeah, remember the 2005 draft when Mel Kiper Jr. was jock-licking BMW the entire day? How he said "I'll be there when his bust gets enshrined in Canton" ?

    How's that prediction looking now?

This list is just ridiculous .. Putting a player(s) on there that hasn't even played yet .. Talk about overhyping somebody.
