<img src="http://bolttalk.com/images/tomlinson01.jpg" class="left" alt="LaDanian Tomlinson" />New York, NY -- San Diego Chargers running back LaDanian Tomlinson was named the AFC's Offensive Player of the Week after his record- tying performance during Week 6 action. Also earning honors for their efforts were Kansas City defensive end Jared Allen and Denver punter Todd Sauerbrun.

Tomlinson became just the fifth player in NFL history to rush, pass and catch for a touchdown, leading the Chargers to a 27-14 win over the Oakland Raiders. He registered 179 yards from scrimmage for San Diego, which improved to 3-3 on the season after losing its first three contests.

Thanks to the three-touchdown performance, Tomlinson tied Hall-of-Famer Lenny Moore for the longest streak of consecutive games with a touchdown at 18.

This is Tomlinson's second player of the week honor this season and fifth of his career.

Allen was honored with the Defensive Player of the Week accolades courtesy of a three-sack contest in a 28-21 win over Washington. Allen also had six tackles and forced and recovered a pair of fumbles.

Allen's weekly honor is the first of his career.

Sauerbrun, the Special Teams Player of the Week, averaged 52.3 yards on seven punts for the Broncos in a 28-20 win over New England. He added three touchbacks on kickoffs.

Sauerbrun earned his second career player of the week honor.
