Here are a couple important questions

DP: Why aren't you a San Diego Charger?
LT: It was time to move on.

    DP: By you or them?
    LT: Both.

DP: But this is a team that needs a starting running back.
LT: They don't need a running back in that type of offense like me -- the type of skills that I have.

DP: Were you too expensive. If you would have taken less, would they have kept you?
LT: It wasn't about the money at all. I could have taken more money to go to Minnesota, but it wasn't about that. With the Chargers, it was really time to move on.

DP: Is it Philip Rivers' team?
    LT: Absolutely. Yes it is.

    DP: Should it be?
LT: Yes, absolutely it should be. But I don't think that should have meant [we can't play together]. I don't think it had anything to do with it in my mind. Maybe in their mind it did. In my mind, it didn't.

DP: You'd never play for the Raiders?
    LT: No

DP: Even if it was a great offer?
LT: Yeah, even if it was a great offer. The things we built here in San Diego going against the Raiders -- we beat them 12, 13 straight times. I couldn't just go to the other side.

DP: What if that's the only offer, that or retire?
    DP: I'm retiring.

All it says to me is - There isn't enough money that would persuade me to play for the raiders

Well, maybe this one does it:

DP: Were you too expensive. If you would have taken less, would they have kept you?
LT: It wasn't about the money at all

 LT hates the Raiders more than we do.

I for one will never take LT's name in vain based on that interview alone.

He now ascends to the special place in Bolt lore of alltime Turdhaters with Fouts and Schotty. Love it.

The full radio interview is great. Dan Patrick is simply the best sports interviewer in the business.

Why would he want to suffer in Oakland? Glad he hates the Raiders like the fans do. With the way the NFL is today it's rare to see that in a player. So he deserves extra props for that.

I think he was saying that staying a Bolt had nothing to do with money. I've said that from the beginning.

But for him to come out and say that he wanted a chance at a ring is not true. He took the best offer, and THAT was all about the money. Only the raiders could not have made an offer high enough for him

    Yeah it was.

For fans to fall for the "Minny offered more money" shows the gullibility of the fans.

Not many stop to think about the difference in the Big Apple's endorsement money which will FAR EXCEED LT's base salary is pretty mind boggling.

This is LT's last chance to grab the golden ring and that cash cow does not lie in the frozen advertising tundra of Minnesota.

What ever dude, keep hating on him

It benefits the Vikings not to call BS on Tomlinson. It makes the Viking fans think that they tried harder to get Tomlinson especially if Favre retires. It also makes Tomlinson save face by saying that it is not about money.

It also makes sense that the guy wanted to go to a system he was familiar with, especially since he knew without Favre, Minn has ZERO chance of even making the playoffs.

How people can blatantly hate on LT so bad and call him a liar, makes me question if you are even a Charger fan, even though i know you are

This ain't about hate. This is about MONEY.

Are you ******** me ?

LT is headed to the HOF and the Big Apple will ride that pony. Vizio and Chunky Campbell came all the way to broke dick San Diego.

This is business and LT's name sells. Pomerado Hospital (or one of those effing hospitals in that area) signed a multi-million dollar deal with LT just for LT to help them with fund raisers. Dude just shows up. The hospital had problems raising cash and the director said LT's name raised more money in one fund raiser than a decades or some stupid ****'s worth of fund raisers.

Get a grip. Our boy went for the cash and said F-U in staying here and making a vet minimum. That is reality.

Wait a sec. I am not hating. I loved LT as a Charger. I agree with your points about the system. I can also see the "business side". Hell none of us will ever know what the real story is. To be honest I can not wait for the draft so these damn LT threads will die. The man is a Jet so let us move on!

I don't have a problem with LT's choice of teams, he clearly was not happy with the Chargers running philosophy so he went to a run oriented team, he wanted a chance to win a superbowl, the jets have a chance, he said he didn't mind being a complementery player, he'll be behind Greene.

I'd be pissed if he went to a crappy team just for the money and the carries.

Yes, he continues to play the game to make himself come out smelling like roses. Let him say exactly how it was more money. My understanding is that the Jets offered 2.5 million and he can earn I believe another $400,000 in incentives. Now, for the curve ball, did Minne offer him let base salary but more in terms of incentives? And if so, were those incentives truely obtainable? So if he met all incentives with both teams he possibly could have walked away with more $$$ in Minne but without reaching them he walks away with more $$$ from the Jets. Oh, and like evryone else in saying......the endorsements don't hurt either.
