Apparently, the man with the magic hands suffered a collapsed lung in the game yesterday and is still in a Kansas City hospital! No time table for his release.

    Get Well Soon M80!!!!!!!!!

I think you have to wait 3 months before flying after a collapsed lung. :icon_eek:

After that I believe it is always a risk flying or diving.

That's good to know but a collapsed lung is some serious sh*t. I don't know about him playing in the next two games.

Tim Dwight had that problem too.

Floyd returning to San Diego after suffering collapsed lung

SAN DIEGO -- Chargers wide receiver Malcom Floyd was hospitalized overnight in Kansas City after sustaining a collapsed lung in Sunday's victory against the Chiefs.

Floyd was flying to San Diego on Monday, coach Norv Turner said.

"They wanted to do some tests on him," Turner said. "Things look good and it'll be day to day in terms of where he is at the end of the week and if he'd be available for the game."

Floyd caught a 4-yard touchdown pass from Philip Rivers with 1:13 left in the game. After the Chargers recovered an onside kick, Rivers threw a 10-yard scoring pass to Vincent Jackson with 36 seconds to go to give the Chargers a 22-21 victory.

Floyd had five catches for 67 yards.

San Diego (6-8) remained mathematically alive in the AFC West race. The Chargers are two games behind Denver with two to play. San Diego visits Tampa Bay on Sunday before finishing the season with a home game against the Broncos.

Center Nick Hardwick, knocked out of Sunday's game with a concussion, underwent tests Monday.
"He felt good," Turner said. "Again, we know with the head injuries we'll be super careful. Everything was very positive in terms of where he is right now."

    Get well soon M80...

Don't you blame Norv for calling the play that put Malcolm in harm's way, not to mention the horrible call that almost got Chambers killed?

I saw Malcolm Floyd's name so here is the "Malcolm Floyd needs to be utilized more" post. I'll also cover the "Norv Turner is an idiot for not starting him every Sunday" standard response.

Malcolm Floyd needs to be used more; Norv must be an idiot for ignoring his ability.

What's up with "blame Norv" for MF's collapsed lung, "blame Norv" for CC getting jacked-up?

It's part of the game. Sorry to see CC get decked, but what a sense for making a play! Same, same with MF. Hope Malcolm recovers quickly with no lasting complications.

Ever since Malcom was able to get back out of Norval's doghouse, his play at critical junctures of the game has been HUGE for our offense. Once again he is injured after flat out giving his ALL for this team at every opportunity.

Malcom Floyd is an example of everything that is still RIGHT about our team and football - you can only wish him a speedy recovery from this thing and a better tomorrow.

p.s. Anyone else hear about VJ having a concussion??? I guess he got it on the TD play right before they went for 2.

I get on VJ for dropping passes and gator arming sometimes but that is gnarly! He still played!

I forgot that he was even on the roster last season.
Who knows what could have happened in the AFCC if he was on the field.
