About time Ted let him loose

Merriman is the biggest beast in the NFL and will continue to prove it for a long time

Get him locked up long term AJ, there is no way this man can ever hit FA

congrats to merriman. The onlly thing holding him back this year was the coaching that was styming the defense. Finally cottrell is starting to listen to suggestions of disquising the defense better and using the talent he's got which is alot. Other than Hart this defense could be a killa.

The biggest gap in our Defensive Backs is McCree, not Hart. Hart is a journeyman DB. He can be uprooted, but not before Mother McCree and not before somebody better shows up on the roster.

Yeah, it's only a matter of time until our opponents start mocking it again.

So, let 'em! If Merriman keeps on going like he is, he'll be close to being the sack leader.

I like the dance. I like seeing the players get amped. I wish they were allowed to do more ellaborate touchdown celebrations. It's really fun as a fan. spices it up.

I guess we just have different opinions. Choreographed, pre-meditated TD celebrations are so far beyond weak I don't have a word for it. But hey, I'm an old man who grew up before it was necessary to rub your opponent's face in every routine play you made.

How old are you? Because TD celebrations are a lot older than most pretend they are. People love to pine for the tougher, old school days when players would flip the ball to the referee and run to the bench. But those "good old days" really weren't any better. It's just a way for people of a certain age to feel superior.

Many players have choreographed celebration dances. I don't really have a problem with it. I agree that celebrating like a maniac after a routine play is ludicrous. But Merriman does not do that. A sack is not a routine play. Knocking the snot out of a running back for a loss is not a routine play. Personally, I like the attention it brings to Merriman. Opponents are intimidated by him, and it gives him a mental edge.

    44.

Yes, they have been around for awhile, and they have sucked for just as long. Of course, back in the day, it was only a guy or two, Billy "White Shoes" Johnson is the first guy I can think of. Now it's widespread.

I understand that it isn't going anywhere, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. Many people do, though I can't understand why. I guess ****** uniforms and silly dances are some people's idea of what's cool about the NFL, just not mine.

And I guess curmudgeonly whining is what some people need to do to feel superior.

I think you have registered your opinion on the subject pretty strongly. Repeatedly bringing it up just makes you seem like a killjoy. I'd rather have a guy who makes big plays and celebrates them than a guy who has nothing to celebrate.

Remember, Merriman announced he was going to shelve the dance. He only brought it back after his teammates asked him to. If it gives them an edge, I'm all for it.

The uniform thing is a matter of opinion. I happen to like the new design, but that's just my personal taste. Then again, I'm not as fashion and dance-obsessed as you.

I didn't bring it up, someone else did. I just responded with my opinion, as people in forums are wont to do.

I love the dancing, only for motivational purposes, it also shows our guy is into what he does for a living, it amps up the rest of our entire team, it's electric and it wouldn't really matter what choreography it was so long as it's energetic.
