what in the hell is wrong with them?

One would think that 99.9% of the people in San Diego hate the Dodgers, why would they help them?

Unless of course they know that Maddux cant win anymore, and they sent him up there to continue that losing streak!

    This SUCK'S!

Other than Peavy, Maddox has been their best pitcher.

If they really wanted to help the Dodgers, they should throw in Giles. :icon_rofl:

Am I the only one that doesn't care about this?

Maddux is old and is going to retire this year or next year and it's not as though the Padres are doing anything this year.

May as well snag a prospect out of the Dodgers' farm system while they try to make their futile run in the playoffs. :icon_shrug:

Doesn't he have a buyout clause in his contract at the end of this season?

Actually I don't follow baseball so I don't care either. I just wanted to dish on the dodgers.

and for the last 25 years, the Padres OWN the Dodgers!

AND for the better part of those 25 years of Dodgers tears, we have been nothing more than a AAA team.

How many times have the Dodgers finished out of the race and if the Dodgers COULD of beat the Padres, the Dodgers COULD of made the Playoffs?

    Fuk LA and everything there.

I could give a crap if Maddux goes to LA. Even if they make the playoffs, they will get spanked in the 1st round.

No you are not, I didn't give a **** when it popped up on espnews. The only reason I enjoyed having him on our roster was the nostalgia. He's not very impressive whatsoever, just another case of the pads grabbing someone a decade too late, or letting someone go a decade too early.

The Dodgers have won one playoff game since I quit calling them my favorite team. (After the 1988 season)

does anyone know who or what we are getting from the Dodgers? I heard its two PTBNL and the rumor was one could be James McDonald. If we got a decent haul for Maddux then I'm sorry but adios amigo.

I heard it could be cash.

If that's true I'll be a bit perturbed.

if its just cash then i'm pissed off, we better have gotten someone or i'll believe every single 'we are slashing payroll and starting to take apart the team' rumor. And at that point, I'm done with the Padres

I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm done with them.

It's not like they're going anywhere this year, so I can certainly understand slashing a bit of payroll by giving away a guy that's more than likely going to retire this offseason anyways.

And the move would by no means be any kind of indication that they're going to cut anyone and everyone to even further slash payroll just for the sake of slashing payroll.

But, it would be a stupid move, none-the-less, because the Dodgers needed a pitcher and I'd think you should be able to at least come out with a low A-ball guy or two.

on the way home from Soccer practice, I was listening to the Padres pregame show on the Radio. Gerry Coleman said its 2 PTBNL from the Minor's. They have a list of eligible players and the scouts are going to be busy.

We survived one fire sale, what’s another.

I just wonder if this is all about Moore’s Divorce, and is he trying to devalue the Team so his Ex does not get as much in their settlement!

Awesome, we dump Maddux, who was most likely going to retire and even if he doesn't he's sucked on the road, we get 2 prospects, no idea who they'll be but even if they're only somewhat decent it'll be worth it.

This wasn't a salary dump, the Padres are paying part of Maddux's contract, they sacrificed money for better prospects, actually it seems like the Dodgers are the ones desperate to save money, if they were willing to give up better prospects instead of paying the rest of his deal.

The Dodgers will choke the division away even after all their moves, although it's almost worth having them make the playoffs just so they keep Colletti who will ruin the Dodgers.
