Is it wrong that I almost feel sorry for Norv Turner going through this? How can anyone win with this crap continuously falling on them?

No, being empathetic isn't wrong. I feel for the guy too

    BUT

I also feel like you make your own luck, and there is a reason why bad luck and Norv go hand in hand.

We'd better be planning for a new LT too.

I don't.... He is known for not getting his team in 'football shape' hence all the injuries. He does not get his team prepared hence the slow starts. Doesn't practice the 2 minute drill hence all the FG attempts.

I feel sorry for the team, not for Norv. It's his job to get the best out of what he has available to him, time and time again he fails in this respect.

The only reason I almost feel sorry for Turner is just the old adage of when it rains it pours. I mean he hasn't caught a single injury break in a few years. But the reason I don't feel sorry is he managed to take those injuries in 2007-2008-2009 and the team still did damn well.

I'd put Gaither at LT right now, what do you have to lose? Dombo clearly isn't an LT

This is where we have to give AJ his due credit. Remember the whole holdout thing was so the team could protect itself with injury clauses in McNeill's contract, and AJ won the starring contest.

This team is a mess from top to bottom, Deans kid is in charge of scouting do think he'll get canned? If AJ stays this team is doomed for years.

I like Gaither.. he was cut because he came into the Steelers game like cold cut turkey in the 4th qtr i believe and had a false start penalty..

I think he can prove to be worthy at the position and I guess we will see..

I do not feel bad for Norv what so ever.. did you not see the last game? He ran the ball 3 straight times and tried to set up a game winning field goal when everybody on that field and stadium knew Novak doesn't have the leg from that distance..

I feel bad for Norv, but I'd still pull the trigger if it were up to me.

I guess I read this pretty differently than you did. I thought that by
running the ball, Norv was trying to make it a SHORTER field goal.

1-10 From Denver 35 - Mathews off right tackle for three, to Denver 32
2-7 From Denver 32 - Tolbert off left tackle for one, to Denver 31
3-6 From Denver 31 - Tolbert off left tackle for minus four, back to Denver 35

So, the first two plays were safe, and reduced it to a 49 yard field goal attempt.
Unfortunately Tolbert lost yardage on the third attempt, making it a 53 yard attempt.

But your strong assertion is that Novak's first quarter 53-yarder was solid
proof that he "doesn't have the leg from that (53 yard) distance" ?

AJ has tended to gamble on injury prone players and his gambles rarely seem to pay off.

This is tongue in cheek correct?.

What does all the injuries say about our training staff and how the team is physically prepared. Anybody associated with that side of things should be canned imho. The doc/trainer who said Dielman's concussion and subsequent seizure were not related should be taken out and you know what.

I agree on Dielman, but what about Davis, Floyd, English? Players who cronically are injured. What does it say, if anything that we have a team full of ouch boys? I honestly get the problems at the line, those are called the trenches for a reason, but our players are fragile. A lot of that is training staff, a lot is WHO we are getting... Thats my take on it at least...

Dude, Gaither is HORRIBLE. He couldn't make the starting lineup for a weak Chiefs O-line all season. It's either a lack of work-ethic or he is simply too injured to play effectively. He has all the physical attributes, but has not performed since his injury a couple years ago in Baltimore. You have to remember, he was originally brought in by the Raiders in the off season and failed the physical. Luckily, we didn't have to pay him much. To be perfectly honest, having seen him struggle just walking on and off the field this year and knowing his injury was two years ago, I doubt the guy plays football again after this season. The guy we brought off the practice squad (Mims) looks so much better than Gaither.

He missed a 48 yard field goal in the 3rd quarter.. so what did you think that was a fluke?

Then he sets him up for a 53 yarder to win the game.. before John Fox calls a brilliant timeout to ice his ***..

wouldn't you try a pass play on first down? a slant to VJ or something, who was hiding under a rock by the way.. then try a few running plays get Novak an easy 40-45 yarder? no lets run the friggin ball 3 straight times, two times previous bring in Tolbert, and it clearly wasn't obvious we weren't running the ball on 3rd and 6 right? Please.. Poor coaching and if you try and tell yourself that was okay what Norv did your a HOMER.. Good coaches put in that situation take less pressure off the kicker to win the game! GOOD coaches.. and Norv is not..

What did Denver do? On First down they threw it incomplete.. then they came out of the SHOTGUN and ran the ball 3 straight times for good gains.. Willis' was because Tebow ran the ball EFFECTIVELY twice in a row we were playing zone to stop Tebow and the gaps opened up for McGahee and they won the game..

Poor coaching all in all.. theres no sugarcoating or defending it..
