I don't understand why more fans don't feel like the 1st round pick is wide open in light of FA moves.

I'd expect one more good FA will be added before the draft and will also open up the first pick so much that we could even trade it away to move up or down.

Looking at the standing roster, I would put RB above a burner WR from the draft. We don't NEED a WR as we need another piece to complete the backfield.

depth/potential starter at several spots over rb and wr.

That said I want 2 pass on Gordon and grab Gurley. (And boy how I hated Gurley in every Georgia game I saw) Injury concerns be damned at least I know he's a diehard runner.

No RB in round one, round three? ok

I´d rather draft another OLinemen in the first, make the line better, which would protect Philip and would make a third round RB look better than a first round RB (with a worse OL)

I think I want Gurley so I don't have to continue to hate watching him play NFL football with the Broncos or pats.

I also admittedly don't know about the round 2 and on guys that can fit in as the main ball hog. Somethin close to 70% of the carries depending on the game at hand is gonna need a big body that can churn yards.

I would not trip if a cb was our 1st pick yet again. I think it's gonna be whoever is there at 17 that can jump right in the defensive rotation and contribute. Alot of edge rushers available.

I think Nolan is pretty satisfied with the youth he has to work with at lb. DE or a de/nt would also work.

Baring another FA signing (starter, not backup), I see the following needs for the draft

OL (someone that can play G/T)
WR (maybe a couple of them)
    RB
OLB (Melvin and Attaochu are there but you can always use more)
    ILB (late round, mostly depth)

I can agree with that based on the current roster, maybe not in that particular order, but I'd Say OL in general because Watt doesnt have to be the C.
I'd Also Add DB. You can never have too many of those and we dont really have a nickle solution (unless Williams starts to play better) or Safety that can play coverage next to E Dub. Yes we have Addae, but he isnt really a coverage safety that can allow Weddle to just roam.

We draft a rb in the third but we better be ready to start off slow in the run game. Talent is talent. If a starting rb is there at 17 and you think his bpa you take him.

I wouldn't mind Gordon, or Gurley. However, I would prefer to grab a NT, or BPA and take Coleman in the 2nd.

You kidding? We got the Great Donald leading the way for us.

BPA is a nice subjective concept, but position value shouldn't be completely ignored. If two A- grade players are on the board in the 1st, one is a RB and the other is a CB...I take the CB almost every time. Only because I know the drop off for RBs isn't quite as steep, and they aren't as hard to find.

No matter what you should prepare for a decline of production at RB this year.

    Lol

There's a boat load of talent in this RB class and people want to reach at 17 and get a RB? A RB that will play 2 downs (don't forget that Woodhead guy, he gets a lot of 3rd down reps). RBs aren't valued like they used to be in the NFL. Although, in our system we tend to be very run heavy, so we value them a little more. The best free agent RB in this class still does not have a team (DeMarco Murray)!

Unless your getting Leonard Williams, Malcolm Brown or Arik Armstead we shouldn't even be thinking DL. And I'm pretty confident all three of them will be off before 17. Quit the NT talk already, Carrethers, when he got the reps, looked very capable of taking over. There's also some options in free agency that can be added relatively cheap and be productive.

If we don't re-sign Royal, I think we're going WR in the 1st. I think Parker might fall to us. That'd be a steal. Guy is a top 15 talent. Even if Royal is re-signed, Floyd is most likely gone next year and Gates, if he decides to continue his career and re-sign will be 36 heading into 2016. We need to get younger and more explosive there. Allen didn't take the steps I expected him to in 2014.

I don't care if we drafted Gordon with the #17 pick, I'd be pretty happy to be quite honest. This team needs exciting players who can be consistent and close out games.

I'd actually prefer a scenario of

    RB Gordon
    WR Perriman
    C Grasu

    Are those by rounds?

I don't know if Perriman makes it to our pick in the 2nd. Grasu either in the 3rd.

The irony about this situation; Gordon has fumbling issues (7 in 2014), and questions in pass protection and pass catching. And Gurley has serious injury concerns, more so than Mathews ever did.....and yet these are the two favorites to replace Ryan Mathews.

    More so as examples

Coates is an intriguing prospect also, if he can work on his route running and catching passes, could be a very good WR
