Anyone see Shaun Phillips on ESPN First Take Friday?? He was being interviewed and they asked him about this NFL celebrity Basketball game that took place over the summer with him, Chad Ochocinco, T.O., and Merriman playing in this.

My question is why is Merriman playing in a Basketball game risking any type of further injury when he is coming off the knee surgery, and still rehabbing it??? He clearly was dragging his leg around in the first half of the season, (especially the first month), and has suffered groin, and foot injuries throughout the season. He has NO business playing in a Basketball game with other athletes of the NFL, and NBA.

    Ryan Leaf flag football anyone???

No wonder AJ is miffed at him for his off field activities.

    Quite yer whining.

Gates, VJ, and Floyd play basketball all the time.

Gates did it during the 2008 offseason, rehabbing his toe injury he suffered in the Titans playoff game.

I guess you have never played basketball before. You can easily get injured doing that, especially coming off knee surgery.

My worst injuries came from basketball in my life. I think it's a big deal for him to do that coming off that injury, and how he's played this year IMO.

I played b-ball most of my life. It was a charity event, not a pick up game.

I broke my ankle in a pick up game.

I would imagine that his post-op knee was pretty much healed. He probably was already rehabbing it and was cleared medically by the team to participate in the game. Just a guess on my part.
