The reason he is not banned is because of the appeals process needs to run its course then bam.

Off comes the foreskin.

I would sure like to hear Merriman's excuse and he did hire a power hitter by all reads. There is something more that is flying under the radar. I suspect it is a supplement that no one knew about that would taint his **** unexpectedly.

Yeah. Marshall's just talking out of his ***. But he said it nonetheless.

I'm really pulling for Merriman here. I hate having him on my POS list. It hurts, bad.

That is what I've wanted to believe all along... If so, appeal away and play while the lawyers and the NFL haggle over this...

Actually, I have been impressed with Faulk on the show so far. Much better then TD and Woody.

Jury is still out until all the facts are on the table.

I trust merriman far more than some lackey lab tech that probably messed up on the urine samples.

I bet Merriman was munching on some **** that the Chargers doctors knew about but screwed up in not knowing it would show up as dirty.

He should file a civil suit for damage to his marketability to score chicks and bucks down the road.

From the UT:

On the scroll on ESPN during MNF, it says that his lawyer stated he tested positive for nandralone from a supplement he took. Nandralone is a pretty hard core steroid. However, some unscrupulous supplement companies used to spike their supplement with a steroid in order to increase its efficacy. I've heard that this happens with sex supplements now (i.e. spiked with Viagra).
If it was nandralone, that is his only defense.

Here is more on this **** .....

If this is the case. What merriman might do is take the supplement to the nfl to be tested. If it has traces of this stuff in it then merriman did accidently wind up taking a steriod. They should let him off the hook if this is the case.

He could have a HUGE defense IF Nandralone is not listed as an ingredient in the supplements he was taking.

Thanks, T, I'll have to take a look at the article.

Yes. I did it in college before a game...

and I did it at two separate jobs.

What are you really asking?

They have this stuff called prohormones which mimic the banned steroids once in the body......There is more here than meets the eye. In other words, the chemicals banned may not even be listed ....

But like you mentioned. If the substance isn't listed on the bottle then how would they know.

If this is the case I'd have to think merriman does have a pretty good defense.

Though the nfl is a pretty stodgy self important organization that might be to huffy to see things fairly.

Marriman could have a HUGE defense IF Nandralone is not listed as an ingredient in the supplements he was taking or listed in a way that the average Joe would not catch. He still may have to serve the suspension, but his credibility, IMO, will not be damaged in the long term..

Yup, legally ignorance is no defense.

I believe ignorance, in this case, may save Merriman's credibility and his career.

Thats the excuse the nfl could use. But that doesn't make it right for them to see it that way. If merriman didn't know he didn't know.

He shouldn't get a suspension. He should get a warning. And the nfl should warn the other players.

I'm fairly certain that Shawne will have to serve the suspension at some point... I don't blame him at all for appealing the suspension if he indeed didn't know that he was using steroids.

If these guys are going to be using supplements, they need to be running them by the team physicians to be sure that all ingredients are outside the ban zone...

I was the test taker... not the administrator...

but it's my understanding that the B sample is simply 1/2 of the cup I pissed in...

the A sample is the other half. Is that accurate?

I'm assuming you're referring to my "water" comment.

Let me save you the trouble. I merely meant that I don't believe he had too much water in his urine. I believe he had something illegal in his urine.
