    According to Adam Schefter (Twitter)

"15 minutes into his 1st practice with Bills, Shawne Merriman tweaked his right leg and left field."

About time for him to go work for ESPN or something

'roid boy---Too bad, I had thought he was a new Seau for us but Shawn Philips and the rest are doing just fine without him. Hopefully, the team gets healthy this week and runs the table on to the SB.

My brother is a Bills fan and he was semi excited they picked up Merriman before I told him "he'll be injured again next week, watch" (said that last week).

Someone needs to tell Merriman that it is ok and to stop faking it.

At least we are not on the hook for rest of this chumps salary.

He's probably faking it now because he doesn't want to risk another injury b4 he becomes a FA in the offseason.

Wow. I dunno. You'd have to wonder how this might affect him, I actually think he thought he could come back and play some. The only goof thing to come out of this from a 'Charger fan point of view' is we are off the hook for the money as Trumpie has mentioned. I was pissed at him not getting that op when he should have and instead came back and failed after game 1 the following season. Looks like that decision may have ended him for good.

Nagging leg injuries are common for hold outs, or players who havent played in some time. He was out last season, held out this season. He will be suffering this all year. He needs to get his head right and focus on getting back on the field.

IMO, his focus on getting back on the field is what led the Chargers to use the 'minor injury' tag on him. They had no confidence his hart was in it. Just my gut feeling, but it is what it is...

Actualy he already made a statement loud and clear that he wouldnt be resigning with BUF. Gotta feel like a big FU for them if they thought he might stick around. Or play well for that matter.

I still think they franchise tag him next year if it still exists. Why would an 0-6 team sign a player for what....3+ million with no chance of making the playoffs? I can see if they are taking the chance that he does play good and then FT him and if he plays bad then let him walk but how can a team seriously take a chance on him with now 2 teams that he is having injury issues? Plus, they are happening without full throttle contact. what can you expect from him in realtime games?

Anyone see the video on the news this morning of him hurting his leg? He was barely moving and came up limping. If he is not faking it I don't know what to think.

I would want to get out of Buffalo also. He could always wear his shorts and flip flops and Bills tank top shirt on the sidelines

I read on ESPN last week that he said he would NOT rule out re-signing with the bills

Franchising SM would be financial idiocy of Al Davis magnitude.

Well, Ralph Wilson is at least as old as Al Davis... only he changes his own diaper still.

Merriman out, Bills blacked out for Sunday
Posted by Mike Florio on November 11, 2010, 3:54 PM EST
Last month, the Bills saw a 26-game sellout streak end.

In their first true home game since then, the blackout streak is now up to two.

The team announced Thursday that the game against the Lions has not been sold out. Thus, it won’t be televised locally.

But folks in Buffalo won’t be missing the debut of linebacker Shawne Merriman. Coach Chan Gailey has ruled Merriman out for Sunday’s game, after he suffered a minor leg injury in practice on Wednesday.

I wonder if there's still people who think it was a stupid move to let him get away.

    Somehow I doubt it.

Of course he would say that now after the report came out he said he wouldnt. He has realized that there could be NO team after Buf. He should stick it out, and work his *** off to prove he wasnt just a 1 1/2 year wonder. I have gotten into the whole his body hadnt dissolved the roids spew about HOW he posted his best year in a season with only 12 games with my local KC fan. Basicaly he never got back to that WOW level he had gotten on.

Of course he's going to say he won't rule out resigning with the Bills while he's playing for the Bills.
