    Merriman's decision

How much Merriman plays Sunday depends on Merriman, according to defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell, who's impressed with the way the star linebacker has practiced since returning from his cross-country tour of knee specialists.

“He looks good,” said Cottrell. “I can't tell how many plays he's going to go. I hope he can go the whole game, but we're not going to ask that of him.”
    McNeill closer

Examined by a spinal specialist Wednesday in Los Angeles, Pro Bowl offensive tackle Marcus McNeill again did not work out with the team yesterday, but Turner said McNeill is getting closer to a return after more than a month out of commission.
“I believe he's improving,” Turner said. “We're not far away from him being able to practice.”

He's still not cleared to practice??? I doubt then we get him before the end of the month - Hardwick and he could be returning at the same time

We are definitely going to find out if Tucker is worth the money.

It don't look good your right, but I don't see the replacements letting anyone down. Rivers will keep em in line and sure as hell LT will have something to say about it also. Unlike B4L, players give you more grief than any coach can. Earn your pay check or get the hell out.

We didn't have the "Berry" then either, dude is down right mean and I'm sure those wasted knees make him more pizzed on game day. We'll be fine.

True...however, when your backup center is a multi-time Pro Bowler -- despite the knee issues -- as opposed to a relative journeyman (no offense Withrow), and said backup has been working with the first team, we should be fine until Nick gets back in the lineup.

That said, if Newberry goes down as well, we could be in some trouble in the short term...

Man, I'm really getting worried about McNeil. He had back injury concerns coming out of college, and it always concerns me when a young players takes so long to recover.

Damn we have so many injuries to worry about, my head is spinning.

Gates is readl, LT is ready, Newberry is capable atleast in the short term and Shelton isn't chopped liver. Just enjoy the game.

Gates is awesome, LT was LT, and Newberry and Shelton sucked but not horribly.
