Since he's still a Charger... if he's healthy and ready to play, keep him.
Make a decision in mid season if we keep him, trade him or release him.

It looks like we have enough cap room to keep him so let's do it.
He's got the veteran experience and could become a solid third or fourth string.
Which could become extremely helpful in the playoffs or could get us some draft picks back in mid season.

I'd prefer Davis and Naanee as our two backup WR to Chambers and VJ.

Well we've got a surplus of good wr's now. Not a bad thing at all. Possibly some team will have an injury to one of their starting wr's and will then need to trade for one. Guess who has a surplus of them. We do.

    Floyd's a better blocker.

Watch last year's 41-3 drubbing of the Donks in Denver. Focus on Michael Turner's long TD run late in the game. Both VJ and Floyd are out way ahead of him, blocking out the two remaining Bronco defenders that had a shot of touching Turner.

That team could be the Chargers. We have a surplus of good wr's now, but that could change in a New York minute. I would hold on to EP as an insurance policy until we have to make cuts or a team wants to trade for him.

I like Naanee’s potential, but Davis hasn’t shown me anything. IMO there’s no valid reason to get rid of Eric Parker. Keep him around, let him compete with everyone else, if he beats out Buster Davis, so be it. The best players should play.

Make no sense to just trade Parker for a late-round pick, if he is potentially our 3rd best WR.

I like both Parker and Floyd.

Parker is not scared to get hit in the air.
    Floyd will dive for balls.

    Keep them both.

It was his rookie year TK.

VJ showed much, much less his rookie season than Davis did.

    Line 'em up ...... :bolt:

If he's good enough to make the squad, so be it. I'm not looking to get rid of him, just want the players who give us the best chance for winning. That should be everyone's goal, regardless of who your favorite player may be.

Line 'em up, let 'em compete and see who does best. Why give up the depth we have before the season has started? We are a step away from an injury. Every team is.

AJ Smith does not share the sentiment.

The thread is just my opinion but of course, AJ knows better that me.
Like I said "as long as Parker is healthy and ready to start on opening day, I think it would make more sense to come to a decision in mid season" but that's just my opinion.

If Parker is traded or released after training camp, Floyd better be ready to start!!! As much as I love having Chambers, Jackson, Davis, and Naanee out there... Parker and Floyd could be insurance for the Super Bowl run!!
