I wonder if the Metrodome just collapsing portends not so good things for the Vikings...not that a great deal of collapsing hasn't already happened.

Today's game with the Giants has been postponed until Monday. Leave it to Brett Favre to find a way to get one more day to heal his shoulder so he can keep his starting QB streak going.

Inflatable teflon roof and heavy snow do not mix. This stadium has always been a brilliant design. I bet Ziggy was on top of the roof jumping up an down. A different way to get a new stadium I guess.

God loves ole Brett, now Monday looks cancelled. Gotta believe whenever the game gets on he'll have bought enough time to at least start and keep the streak moving to a round 300.

not much improvment for today. ABC news is reporting:

A blizzard warning was in effect Sunday for Chicago and much of northern Illinois, all of Iowa, large sections of southern Minnesota and Wisconsin, and smaller areas in North Dakota, South Dakota, Missouri and Michigan, according to the National Weather Service. Most of the rest of the region was under a winter storm warning or a hard freeze watch. Wisconsin authorities issued a statewide no-travel advisory Saturday, citing blizzard and winter storm warnings in nearly every county.

That was the prediction since the crews are already there for Sunday night football.

The stadium collapse is a two edged sword.

It helps the team get a new stadium moving in Minnesota or they are gone to LA.

It also helps eliminate the two open LA spots for a NFL team now down to ONE.

We can root for the Raiders to move to LA or we lose the team to LA which leaves the Chargers HERE (happy days are here again!!!)

Decisions decisons ................ this one sucks mega huevos.

I wonder if this helps to speed up Minn either getting a stadium deal in Minn or if it will get them to commit to LA

Free tickets to football at Ford Field

Posted by Mike Florio on December 12, 2010, 12:53 PM EST

If you live in Detroit and you’re not doing anything else on Monday night at 6:20 p.m. local time and you otherwise don’t have the money or interest to justify buying a ticket when the Lions play at Ford Field, you can go to the Giants-Vikings fan at no charge.

The Vikings have announced that free tickets will be available as of 8:00 a.m. Monday. Folks who have tickets to the game that was supposed to be played in Minneapolis will receive “preferred seating” near the 50-yard line.

So apart from the Vikings’ dome-field noise advantage evaporating, it’s safe to say that many of the folks who show up will be Lions fans who’ll be inclined to root against Brett Favre and the Vikings.

Heck, maybe even some local Packers fans will show up for the purposes of heckling Favre.

Report: Hole getting bigger in Metrodome roof

Posted by Mike Florio on December 12, 2010, 2:15 PM EST

From Patrick Reusse and Tom Pelissero of 1500espn.com come an update regarding the condition of the Metrodome, which apparently is known as Mall of America Field only when the news is good.

The hole in the roof, per Reusse and Pelissero, is getting bigger and more snow is pouring through it.

The next question becomes whether the Metrodome will be available next Monday, when the Vikings host the Bears. Peter King of NBC will have more on that during Football Night in America.

I bet if they were playing a game when this happened they would have a new stadium approved next week.

pretty spectacular, hope nobody hurt. The poor people of Detroit now have to host the Vikings. As if they havent had enough punishment.

well all of this plays right into the Chargers hands!

It might look as the Vikings will be looking for a new stadium elsewhere.

Now if we had butts in seats here in San Diego that team would stay here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would they move to LA, we have a fan base here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Easy, a new stadium.

This may have actually hurt the Chargers. Even if they were just using the possibility of LA as leverage, if Minn heats up their talks with LA, this may very well hurt the Chargers chances of getting a new stadium anywhere
