Take this for what it's worth: was told that if OT Menelik Watson isn't in your 1st rnd mock, then you should "throw it away and start over"

Interesting. I had Pitt gettin Vacarro and Indy getting Trufant.

I have 4 rounds done but that will change a little if Pittsburgh loses Sanders but only from the 3rd round on. Ive already planned for it.

I'll go with that. I feel the same way about Star Lotulelei. Unless he can put on 12-25lbs, i don't think he is a good fit at NT, and we don't have a need at DE

Pugh isnt going to fall to the 3rd round. The guy can play OT and OG and is a good player. And i dont want a slow RB in Taylor.

That was 2 months ago :roflmao:

But, I wouldn't mind if we traded for Rodger Saffold, in the context of the deal LBC had stated.

    1. Star Lotulelei NT
    2. Terron Armstead OT
    4. Chase Thomas OLB
    5. Gerlad Hodges ILB
    6. Zac Stacy RB
    7. Marquess Wilson WR

    Some notable UDFA's I'd like,

    Ray Armstrong SS Miami
    Aaron Hester CB UCLA
    Quanterus Smith OLB Western Kentcuky
    Omoregie Uzzi OG
    TJ Johnson OG/C South Carolina
    Ryan Griffin QB

    Good news Gents

Along with checking out some mock drafts I stumbled across 2 future mocks

in 2014 we get DE/OLB Scott Chricton out of Oregon State with the 9th pick
in 2015 after just beating the Cowboys in the Super Bowl we take RB Kieth Marshall out of Georgia :D

    Which option seems the likeliest?

KC takes Luke Joeckel or Eric Fisher as the number one pick, then trades OT Brandon Albert to Miami for one of their 2nd round picks

Trades back, elects to keep Albert at LT goes with Star Lotulelei (in this scenario its a matter of who trades up? My thinking possibly Det. if they feel Eric Fisher won't be available and is their guy after coaching him in the Senior Bowl) everyone knows Stafford makes that offense go, if he's hurt so is that offense, having Fisher and Reiff as their bookends solidifies that O line for many years)

Stays put, takes tackle, then opts to deal with nightmarish off season with Albert refusing tender and refusing to play anywhere but LT.

I'm actually thinking the more likely path for one of the three OT's to fall to us is Miami trading all the way up to #3 with the Raiders (it's been talked, right now it looks like Oakland and Cleveland may be the most likely to move back if anyone is able to) to get one of Fisher or Joeckel; I could see them opting for Johnson over Joeckel, but even being the non-proponent of Joeckel that I am because his ceiling isn't all that great the smarter money is to take him for a team needing a plug-and-play starting LOT because his floor is much higher right now than Johnson's is.

Despite ceiling and recent hype, I'm not convinced that if the only tackle left available to them at the top was Johnson that Detroit wouldn't pass on him for Milliner or possibly Ansah as BPA (which is what Martin Mayhew drafts for, regardless of need in the 1st).

I agree, I actually have Miami trading up to #3

I also think the only way Johnson falls to 11 is if Geno goes in the top 3 and Jordan slips past the top 5 (which is very unlikely)

I also believe Cleveland will attempt to trade out but won't find any suitors, while opting to stay at 6 taking Milliner (they end up gaining a 2nd later by trading Sheard)

The hardest options for me are Det. Like you said do they value Ansah enough to take him in the top 5? Buffalo, I feel they are taking a QB,WR,and TE in the first 3 rounds but is Patterson or Austin too rich at 8? I think they trade back (but to who?) then take WR or Eifert if far enough, then trade back into the 1st and select Nassib.

I also think NE opts to trade out of the 1st completely seeing how I think they only have 3 or 4 picks this year.

I'd like to believe we manage to trade back and select Warmack or Cooper.

Tenn is another wild card, Do you think they are confident enough that Locker is their guy? or are they in play for Geno?

Also do you see any "Big Time" surprise pick in the top? like Dontari Poe, Bruce Irvine, or Stephon Gilmore as last years example

They missed Cooper Taylor (safety from Richmond). The guy isn't a fit for all schemes (he can fit ours) but he's effectively this draft class's Brandon Hardin, who was pegged as a late rounder going into the draft, was drafted in the 3rd by the Bears, and had locked down a starting spot for them by mid-season. Taylor's got corner back athleticism in a safety's body - though is still better played as a safety than a corner. That said, he ended up at Richmond because he started out at Georgia Tech, got injured early in his career and was passed up by guys from a talented DB recruiting class they brought in while he was recovering. The talent is there.

I did a spit take when I saw the PACKERS of all teams traded up to 11.

I like the Carradine pick, not a huge fan of Jesse Williams.

Williams isn't a sexy pick. But was good value and fills a need. Me personally, I'm a bit more of a gambler and a guy willing to put trust in our coaches that have proven effective - I was lobbying for Hankins because I think Don Johnson can get through to him. The knock on Williams is he's a two-down NT because he's not going to give you a ton as a pass-rusher, but he's dangerous enough as a bull-rusher that he'll command double teams and free up Liuget/Reyes more - and we rotate our DL by practice anyway. I don't trust John Jenkins to keep his weight down - he's literally a guy a team's going to have to put an "Andre Smith" clause in his rookie deal to tie his weight to his money.

I hate agreeing with Kiper, but I do think if given the reps in camp Pugh could eventually transition to center - he plays well enough in a phonebooth, his pre-snap reads and post-snap adjustments are extremely good, and he's got good IQ. That was why we put an emphasis on courting athletic guards and tackle-to-guard prospects in UDFA. The goal was to target scrappy guys who don't quit for depth, but had bit better size than Molk and Baxter (realistically, Baxter probably doesn't make it out of camp). And I still have an outside hope for Schilling (probably more than I do for Troutman, but Dombro is also capable of playing guard at a higher level than he did LOT, in a pinch). Again, an OL is a unit, not a collection of individual talents, so we put emphasis on guys who could play multiple positions so that if someone goes down there are several options and perhaps a starter shifts position and his backup moves up, or whichever. It's a facet of the Bills line of late (as well as the Eagles' line up until the past two years) that we really tried to emulate.

Well there is 2 reasons I don't love the Jesse Williams pick...

    1) I just don't believe NT is a huge need, I've been happy with Cam Thomas. And given that I don't know who was on the board I would have been happier to see us go somewhere else at 45 and pick a NT later on.

    2) Jesse Williams is a 2 down player, he's got good hands but no lateral quickness, he doesn't collapse the pocket, he doesn't provide any penetration. An alternative I'd be happy with is Brandon Williams out of Missouri Southern, he's stocky and powerful and he's much lighter on his feet, he has experience all along the D-line and I believe he could rotate at the 5-tech when needed. I would be very surprised if he's not on John Pagano's wish list.

It's hard to see anyone in the top pass over Joeckel, and Rhodes of all people, the one guy who unless they are going press-man coverage this year wouldn't fit into what we're doing

I put this together Friday after hearing Revis would probably be dealt and still hopeful that Albert will get dealt. Didnt go full 7 rounds. The 5th round was tough so i had enough at that point :p

I expect a lot more trades in this draft and expect SF to trade a couple or few times with all their picks but only made some near the top that i think make some sense to me anyways and i didnt want to go crazy with a bunch of them. Would just make this more difficult and we all know there will be a lot more.

DX isnt signed either and he was at minicamp. As far as i see , Dombro is a UFA. Maybe he showed up with hopes they offer him a contract.

He spent the entire year on the PUP, thus didn't use up the contract year. Pretty sure that's why every major outlet including the team site still has him listed on the roster (he doesn't have 4 accrued seasons of veterancy to trigger unrestricted free agency under the CBA).
