...Now the veteran Turds are whining about being underpaid while all the new "overpaid", future turds are getting all the cash. Derrick Burgess, 35 sacks last three seasons, is leading the gripe squad. He's due to make only 2 mil each of the next two seasons. This team is about to self-destruct more than I ever could have imagined. It doesn't get much better than this.

Burgess at least has a valid claim since he's been their premier defensive player and sack leader since he joined the raiders

They should all just retire. Uncle Al wouldn't know the difference at this point. He's still wondering why Fred Belitnikoff didn't catch more TDs last year. Poor old bastard.

    I disagree.

Does he expect the FAs to come in for less than 2 mil/year just because he's their best defensive player?

He's basically complaining that the Raiders signed free agents.

But I digress, it's fun to watch regardless.

If we were dealing with relatively small margins here, you'd have a point, but a few million here, a few million there, and pretty soon you're dealing with real money. AJ's philosophy of rewarding your own, picking judiciously among the FA's and not breaking the bank with them and doing your draft day homework is by far the superior way to stock a team and keep their chemistry from to low a pH. Metaphorically speaking, Uncle Al is waving his wienie in front of the few really good players that are rooted with the team.

The Raiders have been cheated out of more wins than any team in the history of the world. If refereys didn't throw so many phoney flags on us, we'd have won the division this year. We were close to winning every game as it was. Now with a good QB, we should win this years super bowl. Mr. Davis has put a great team on the field every single year. I'ts the NFL conspiracy against him he can't fight.

This guy is reaching with his comments...He really thinks Davis has been putting together great teams? Everyone he gets are washed up or team A-holes. Together that team is one big A-hole.

With all those big mouthed players I have a weird feeling that Russell will turn into the second coming of RL (the unmentionable).

Burgess can come play for us. I'd take his 35 sacks from the D-Line over the past 3 years. We don't have a D-Lineman with those numbers. That's a little over double digit sacks per year.

I'm just saying, it would be nice if we had a D-Lineman who could put up 10-15 sacks and rush the QB.

The way Burgess plays and what he means to their defense, he absolutely should be their top paid player.

This guy is worth thinking about, depending who is likely to be on the board when we draft.

different system man, 3-4 DEs don't get the sacks or the pressure that a 4-3 DE should/is expected to.
I could see Burgess as a great quick OLB for us, that'd be tight.

as far as Dark Prince goes, it must be nice to dream when your fully awake. Either that or his darth vader mask has the breathing appartus hooked up to some jacked up weed.

Burgess wouldnt be playing DE for us. He is only 260 LBS so he would have to learn to play OLB for us.

So which one do you want to bench for Burgess......Phillips or Merriman?

I say neither! They can trade him someplace else where he will be happier.

I think we are doing just fine with the 40 in three years that "Light's Out" has put up. Everything else that the 4-D's in front put up is just gravy :abq2:

We don't need none of the Raiturds rejects here

I was reading through those comments about that article and some Raider fan mentioned that JaMarcus Russell now needs a sports bra. Funny stuff.
