BTW y'all, a reporter for the NC Times, John "Striker" Myers is an old SOGGIE, and wrote a book called Across The Fence that's a great book, as well!!

And fyi, the late John Walton (yup, them Walton's) was a highly decorated Soggie, as well!!

I will look for the book. As far as John Walton were you talking G'night John boy or John Walton founder of Wal-Mart?

I do give a **** and I wish I hadn't been talked out of going into the service. I wanted to be a SEAL in the worst way. I was talked out of it by my SEAL friend. Looking back on things now I would have made a better Ranger or Green Beret than a SEAL. I regret my decision now.

The late heir to the Wal-Mart fortune, who perished in a home-built light aircraft awhile back.

I also have the photo history of SOG. I will look for the book you mentioned soon, as I am currently reading "The Battle of Mogadishu", by Matt Eversmann. I am totally amazed at the courage of the soldiers in SOG. It's true, combat is the true test of a man. I served in the USA, not in combat, but proud to have served nonetheless.

Anything along the lines of those out there defending and securing or freedoms, definitely deserves a bump at least.
