I have been a big supporter of Nate over the years. He's been one of the TOP kickers in the league since he came into the league (FG's accuracy, points, XP's). He had that 57 yard FG last year, and kicked a 56 against the Cards???!!! But he just cannot hit the kickoffs at all. 5 yard line, 10 yard line, I don't get it.:icon_huh:

If he could hit the endzone and 5 yard line every time (like all other kickers in the league) it would make a HUGE difference.
Why not get someone else to do kickoffs??? Other teams have done this in the past. I think it would be a good roster spot we would need. Field position is important.

I don't know, just a thought. Maybe one of our WR's can kick like Ochocinco.

everyone needs to let it go.

It's not going to change anytime soon.

Besides, we don't have to rely on his leg near as much as SciFri

His money kicks are for points, those are more important than a kick off. Hell, If our D is anything like as advertised then it wont matter where they start from. :icon_toast:

Nate is EASILY the finest Chargers placekicker EVER, next to John Carney.

Criticizing Nate is ridiculous, unless you're pining for Wade Richie. (And if you're pining for Richie, you've got OTHER probems.)

Maybe Eric Parker and kick the kick offs or Vincent Jackson. :icon_shrug:

You are correct we can't complain as a FG kicker, but I think it is a valid point that the guy almost NEVER puts it in the endzone. It is very frustrating and I'd like to see them explore a solution.

Rolf Benirschke had problems reaching the end zone, too.

If Scifres were the 'answer' on kickoffs, they'd have him in there already, wouldn't they?

I accept that Nate is limited on kickoffs, but I believe the team can do a good job of compensating with directional kicking, and hemming the return man in at the sideline.
