NATIONAL CITY – National City officials pushing a plan to build a new Chargers stadium near the city's bayfront are hitting a wall of opposition.

The Working Waterfront Group, a coalition made up mostly of industrial businesses along the bay, is leading the fight. The group says construction of a stadium on 52 acres west of Interstate 5 and south of Bay Marina Drive would eliminate quality jobs and hurt businesses that need access to the nearby 24th Street Marine Terminal.</blockquote>
